... The goal is to verify that the conceptually simpler modulation scheme described by eq. (1), and shown in the figure at the top of p. 2, is undesirable. To study this you need to generate a waveform like that on the lefthand side of the figure at the top of p. 2. Borrow a 2nd Wavetek generator and se ...

... The IF amplifier has a tuned circuit that accepts components only near 455kHz, in this case 454kHz, 455kHz and 456kHz. Since the mixer maintains the same amplitude proportion that existed with the original AM signal input at 999kHz, 1000kHz and 1001kHz, the signal now passing through the IF amplifie ...

... sinusoid. Fewer than two samples would not do this. However, what happens when fewer than two samples are taken per cycle is not necessarily intuitive. It turns out that the sinusoid masquerades as one of another frequency. Consider the situation when the frequency f of a continuous-time sinusoid is ...

... For single-supply applications (VS− = GND), the input voltage range extends from 100 mV below ground to within 2.0 V of the most positive supply. Each filter input includes level-shifting circuitry. The level-shifting circuitry adds a dc component to ground-referenced input signals so that they can ...

When the anti-aliasing filter is being discharged, the differential op-amp sees a 20 Ω differential load. This is an acceptable load for the ADA4938-1. ...

... Input impedance is a very important, but a very misunderstood principle of amplifiers. We all understand that relative low impedance at the electrode sites will demonstrate a better output quality, but this would not be true if the input impedance at the amplifier was not inversely high. This is bec ...

HD-MAC

HD-MAC was a proposed broadcast television systems standard by the European Commission in 1986 (MAC standard), a part of Eureka 95 project. It was an early attempt by the EEC to provide High-definition television (HDTV) in Europe. It was a complex mix of analogue signal (Multiplexed Analogue Components), multiplexed with digital sound, and assistance data for decoding (DATV). The video signal (1250 (1152 visible) lines/50 fields per second in 16:9 aspect ratio) was encoded with a modified D2-MAC encoder. HD-MAC could be decoded by a standard D2-MAC receivers (SDTV), but in that mode only 625 (576) lines and certain artifacts were visible. To decode the signal in full resolution required a specific HD-MAC tuner.
