... DS1 is a capacitively-coupled comparator with provisions for an adjustable threshold. DS1 provides the best performance at low signal-to-noise conditions. The threshold, or squelch, offsets the comparator’s slicing level from 0 to 90 mV, and is set with a resistor between the RREF and THLD1 pins. Th ...

... If it is desired that the effective area be large compared to λ2 , then the directivity D must be large. This is consistent with the law of diffraction that if a beam is to have a characteristic angular spread of θ (directivity D ≈ 1/θ 2), then its narrowest cross section has radius ≈ λ/θ, and hence a ...

... Dynamic Range The dynamic range of a receiver is defined as the difference in decibels between the minimum input level necessary to discern a signal and the input level that will overdrive the receiver and produce distortion. In simple terms, dynamic range is the input power range over which the rec ...

... With a BPSK signal a single error would cause all subsequent received bits to be detected wrongly – therefore differential phase shift keying is used. With DPSK the data are precoded in the same way as they are in duo binary, a transmitted “1” means that the data changed whereas a transmitted “0” c ...

Continuous-wave radar

Continuous-wave radar is a type of radar system where a known stable frequency continuous-wave radio energy is transmitted and then received from any reflecting objects. Continuous-wave (CW) radar uses Doppler, which renders the radar immune to interference from large stationary objects and slow moving clutter.CW radar systems are used at both ends of the range spectrum. Inexpensive radio-altimeters, proximity sensors and sport accessories that operate from a few dozen feet to several kilometers Costly early-warning CW angle track (CWAT) radar operating beyond 100 km for use with surface-to-air missile systems↑ ↑
