Product Overview
The SFP transceiver module is a high performance integrated duplex data link for bidirectional communication over copper cable. It is designed for high speed data rates of up
to 2.5 Gbps. The hot pluggable feature allows changing to/from another SFP-compatible
module without having to remove system power.

The SFP-MSA document recommends a mating sequence of ground, power, and signal contacts in that order. A
diagram of the host connector is show in Figure 1. Signal inputs/outputs on the SFP transceiver modules from the
20-pin host connector are AC coupled and internally terminated to 50 or 75 ohms (TD+, TD-, RD+, RD-) depending
on InfiniBand or Fibre Channel specifications. Figure 2 shows the recommended power supply filtering network.
