Explain the difference between monocot
and dicot
A monocot, also called
Monocotyledonae, always has parallel
venation in its leaves or needles. The
Dicotyledonae, or dicot, always has
netted venation.
Explain the differences between vegetative
and reproductive plant organ.
Vegetative organs are the stems, roots,
and leaves of a plant. Reproductive
organs are the flowers, fruits, and seeds
of a plant.

Explain the differences between palisades
and spongy mesophyll.
The palisade mesophyll is made of ovalshaped cells that are rich in chloroplasts.
These cells are packed together tightly on
the topside of the leaf so as to maximize
the number of cells in the tissue and the
exposure to sunlight. The spongy
mesophyll, on the other hand, is on the
bottom side of the leaf. The cells on this
side are loosely packed together. This
allows for gas spaces between the cells.
The stomata open into the spongy
mesophyll so that air can enter and leave
the leaf. It is in the spongy mesophyll that
carbon dioxide and oxygen are
exchanged.
