Vocabulary Homework Contract
You must complete two activities. Choices are on the back. All work is due on Friday
morning. Please make sure all work is complete and stapled to this contract. Color
the  next to each activity as you complete it.
Changes in the Sky Vocabulary Words
Sun – the brightest object in the day sky
orbit – the path that one space object travels around
another
revolve – to move in a path around an object
Moon – a large sphere made of rock
phases – the different ways the moon looks
constellation – a group of stars that forms a picture
star – a big ball of hot gases that gives off light
sundial – an instrument that shows the time by using the
sun’s light
Activities
 Write a short story using all of the vocabulary words.
Underline the
vocabulary words.
 Find a synonym and antonym for each of your vocabulary words.
 Draw & color pictures that represent the meaning of the words.
Label
your words.
 Use each vocabulary word in a new sentence.
Underline the
vocabulary words.
 Cut pictures or words from old magazines or newspapers that
represent the meaning of each word. Make sure to write the word beside
the picture.
 Find the definition of each word in a dictionary or on
www.wordcentral.com, or on www.kids.wordsmyth.com & write any other
definitions for the word, including part of speech.
 Make a crossword puzzle using www.puzzlemaker.com. Don’t forget
to include a word bank.
 Make a flip book study guide for your vocabulary words.
 Create a Jeopardy game board using your vocabulary definitions &
small sticky notes. (Give answer, question would be… ex. What is
recently?)

Write a letter to a friend using proper form and include at least 4
words. Underline the vocabulary words you used.
