Hydrophone amplifier with high input impedance, buffered output and buildin batteries
This unit is designed for stationary use in rough climatic invironments or for building in into equipment
which does not require frequenly access to the amplifiers internal controls. All control buttons are placed
inside the box in order to make the unit more watertight.
The amplifier has buildin 2 pcs. 9Volt PP3 batteris.
It may also be powered by an external 12 to 24Volt battery or a laboratory supply.
The unit has a very low current consumption of 12mAmp and the maximum operation time is appr. 8 to 12
hours on a set of fully charged batteries. With dry cell Alkaline 9volt batteries the operation time may be
up to 48 to hours.
The unit offers Lowpass filters and
Highpass filters and Gain control settings.
The amplifier also offers variable input Resistance and capacitance to setup filtering and/or attenuation
directly on she transducer input terminals.
This is usefull especially in order to handle very large input signals like those coming from explosions or
large sea-waves.

Operaters quick guide to B1501
Hydrophone and Filter Amplifier
Battery Powered / Chargevoltage 24Volt
Batteries and Controlbuttons inside box
Low Pass Filter for anti-aliasing filtering
2.nd order filter 12dB/oct. -6dB @ frequency
High Pass Filter for filtering off low-freq. seawaves.
1.st order filter 6dB/oct. -3dB @ frequency
Used in conjunction with Inp.Res.filter will result in a 2.nd order high-pass filter.
Input Resistance
Used to form a high-pass filter directly on the input terminals together
with the Transducer capacitance TCcap cut-off freq. = 1 / (2 x Pi x Rinp x TCcap.)
Input capacitance
Used to form an input attennuator in order to handle very heavy input signals
The attenuation is made up between the transducer capsitance and the input capacitance
Atten. = Cinp / (Cinp + TCcap.)
Fingerscrews made of Bronce. Resisant to seawater.
This box is semi-watertight only. It will not withstand water-pressure
Unscrew the top-cover to operate the controlbuttons.
Press down the top cover to loosen and tighten the screws.
Batteries are 2 pcs. 9Volt NiMh type PP3
They contain 160mAH and will last 10 Hours on a complete recharge.
Battery charger 24Volt will take 5 Hours to recharge the batteries..
Keep batteries cool when not in use for longer periods.
Do not overcharge. Recycle batteries when they are worn out.
The amplifier may for emergency run on 2pcs 9 Volt dry cell batteries.
Remember to remove dry cell batteries emidiately after use.
Dry cell batteries can leak acids and may spoil the amplifier completely.
DO NOT CHARGE dry cells batteries
