PREP Stage 3 – Learning Plan
DIFFERENTIATION
SCAFFOLD: Students will observe the significance of genetic variation as a result of the possible outcomes of various genetic combinations.
Students will also examine the different genetic techniques used in studying the genomes of organisms.
ACCELERATE: PREP – dominant, recessive, genotype, phenotype, allele, homozygous, heterozygous, monohybrid, dihybrid, codominance,
incomplete dominance, blood typing
GROUP: Students will work monohybrid and dihybrid crosses to find genotypic and phenotypic ratios.
Learning Activities:

Opening: Give back test grades and re-teach if
necessary.
New Material: Karyotypes and Pedigree Charts
Guided Practice: Create a pedigree chart based
on the family and their traits given to you.
Assessment and Closing: Exit ticket will be the
final product of the pedigree chart that was
created.
