Juliet is indirectly answering Paris. She is purposely vague as not to give away that she is already married
to Romeo.

 Friar Laurence will send word to Romeo informing him of the plan.
 Juliet’s parents will think she’s dead and burry her.

4. The irony in Friar Laurence’s question is that everyone thinks Juliet is dead so she IS ready for
church, but not as a bride. She will go to church for a funeral and not for a wedding.
