Example: Debi saw a white horse running in the field. Uses –er or more A superlative adjective compares three or more things (nouns). Uses –est or most There are irregulars like: good, well, better, best, bad, worse, worst * NEVER use both –er and more or –est and most. Use one or the other. Adverbs An adverb (adv.) tells how, where, or when and action (verb) happens. It can be written before or after the verb. Many adverbs end with –ly or -ily How- The horse quickly ran over the owner. (quickly describes how the horse ran) adv. verb When- I will meet you tomorrow at 2. (tomorrow describes when to meet) adv. verb Where- You will need to go down one flight of stairs.
