Netcraft is an Internet services company based in Bath which provides Internet data
mining, defences against fraud and phishing, web application security testing, and
automated penetration testing. Clients include many of the world’s leading Internet
infrastructure and financial companies, and in particular, Netcraft’s anti-phishing services
are very widely licensed, ultimately protecting hundreds of millions of people.
Netcraft wants to recruit software developers to its team based in Bath and the role
represents a well paid opportunity to join in with the development of Netcraft's
innovative and commercially successful network exploration and security services.
Important attributes include;

A broad knowledge of Internet technology, together with an attention to detail,
and a desire to find things out empirically rather than rely on conjecture.

A keen interest in network security, data mining, or web based user interfaces.

Evidence of conspicuous achievement and a strong computing background,
consistent with a first class grade for the part of the Computer Science degree
already completed.

Expressive verbal and written communications skills.

A well developed sense of precaution; a person who likes to plan for the future
with suitable programming abstractions, automated test suites & version control,
and generally feel that they are in control of their own destiny.

Demonstrable programming ability and experience. Prior knowledge of any of Perl,
Python, Ruby, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or Unix systems programming
would be helpful.
Industrial Years or Summer Placements
Netcraft is very keen to receive applications from high performing Computer Science
students who would like to have their industrial year at Netcraft or work at Netcraft
during the summer vacation.
