Summary of City of Flint (City) Actions
In Response to the
EPA Emergency Administrative Order
Updated: February 12, 2016
Chapter 57 & 58: Adequate Demonstration that chlorine residual is being maintained in
the distribution system.
EPA Order Due Date: Monthly
The City continues to monitor chlorine residuals in the distribution system and continues
to add corrosion inhibitors in an effort to optimize corrosion control in the system.
The results of the chlorine monitoring, daily water quality parameter monitoring,
corrosion inhibitor dosage and corresponding residual are reported as a weekly updated
spreadsheet, which can be found on the State of Michigan’s “Taking Action on Flint
Water” website.
Distribution system weekly water quality parameter results are compiled on a
spreadsheet, which can also be found on the State of Michigan’s “Taking Action on Flint
Water” website.
The results of the monitoring are provided and discussed in a weekly conference call
with staff from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
