Guest Lecture by Mr. Rohintan Talati

On the 27th of October, 2015, a guest lecture was held at The Faculty of Management Studies. The
eminent speaker was Mr. Rohintan Talati.
Mr. Rohintan Talati is currently working as an Assistant General Manager- H.R of Linde
engineering India pvt ltd. He has 18 years of hands on experience for Human Resources Management
especially in EPCC sectors at strategic and operational level.
He commenced the session by narrating a story of a priest and a prostitute. He concluded from the story
that God always judge everyone by their intent and not by actions or physical activities. He also discussed
current scenarios, what a particular organization is looking for in a candidate while recruitment. He advised
to focus on communication and also to focus on definitions. He stated that successful people are never
governed by rules but ethics. He also shared his personal experiences and how his cultural values and ethics
helped him in recruitment procedure.
While talking about communication, he shed some light on the importance of intra-personal communication
and how it can be beneficial for once self development. He adviced students to accept and acknowledge the
way one is and how one must know truly who he is.
Briefly talking about change, he went on stretch about how whole world talks about change but important
is how no one talks the measures needed to bring that transformation. Then he listed various tools for
improving knowledge and a pure mind and soul. He concluded the session with a story of Buddha. The
moral of the story was to look things in different way.
