MADRID, SPAIN > SCIENCE ABROAD
Madrid Science Program
REQUIRED COURSE
Students enroll in one, 4-credit Spanish language course at their level. Language courses are
taught exclusively in Spanish and correspond to the Spanish courses offered by the Boston
University Department of Romance Studies.
The Madrid Science Program, offered only in
fall semester, combines science coursework
with Spanish language and culture studies at
Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and the
Instituto internacional. The program design
allows students to take courses that fit neatly
into their curricula and requirements. For
students interested in a career in science or
health, the Madrid Science Program can help
develop tools of cultural understanding for
work in an international environment. No
prior knowledge of Spanish is required. Upon
successful completion of the program,
students earn 16 to 18 Boston University
credits.
