HEAT ENERGY
Heat energy is the energy associated with the motion of
particles in a substance.
When there is a lot of heat energy, the particles move fast
and there is high temperature
When there is little heat energy, the particles move slower
and there is low temperature
HEAT LAW: DURING A TRANSFER, HEAT ALWAYS
MOVE FROM WARMER OBJECT TO COLDER OBJECT
SOURCES OF HEAT ENERGY: Sun, burning material,

SOLAR ENERGY
 Energy from the Sun
 Provides heat and light energy for Earth
 Plants use solar energy for photosynthesis
to make a sugar (their food)
 Provides almost all of the energy that we
use on Earth

CHEMICAL ENERGY
 Energy that is stored in particles of matter
 Chemical energy can released when these particles
react to form new substances
