Types of Crust
So what is the big deal?

What matters is how tight the clothing is
packed in when the size changes.
What scientist call this is
The heart formula
So what does this have to do
with the Earth’s Crust?

There are two types of crust in the
Lithosphere
1. Oceanic crust
2. Continental Crust
Oceanic Crust
Made of mostly basalt
 Hard and Dense
 Thin

Continental Crust
Made mostly of granite
 Light color
 Less Dense

So here is what happened…

When all the Earth was molten, the heavier
substances sank. The lighter less dense
ones floated to the top.

ALL BECAUSE OF …..
Now get your clickers…..
Oceanic crust is made mostly
of ___________?
A. Silicon
 B. Granite
 C. Burch
 D. None of the above

The formula for density is
mass divided by _________.
A. Density
 B. Centimeters
 C. Width
 D. Volume

Which of the following is most
dense?
A. Granite
