Welcome Message It is my great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the Malta Physiological Society (MPS) within the Malta Chamber of Scientists, University of Malta and Malta Council Science and Technology (MCST) that manages COST in Malta and to invite you to attend the next International Annual meeting of COST Action CM1103 “Interdisciplinary Chemical Approaches for Neuropathology” in association with the “4th Neuroscience Day @ Malta University” to be hosted in Valletta, 22nd – 25th of October 2013. The organizing committee is working hard for a very successful event, both scientifically and socially. The COST Action CM1103 Grant Holder, Dr Rona Ramsay from the University of St Andrews, UK, and I are putting together an exciting program that will cover a full range of interests, promoting the exchange of expertise between the various areas of structure‐based drug design, synthetic chemistry and neuropathology that can contribute with information to diagnosis and the treatment. This conference, unlike most regional events, will bring together international experts at the forefront of our discipline and practice allowing you to hear and meet them; moreover, it is being held in a vibrant and fun location. The COST conference is organized with the support of the University of Malta, one of the oldest European universities in one of the most beautiful Mediterranean islands. In short, a wonderful place to meet up with each other. I very much am looking forward to seeing you in Valletta in October 2013. Giuseppe Di Giovanni President of the Organising Committee
