II. OVULATION
A. Definition: a cyclic event controlled
by two hormones (FSH and LH) that
occurs monthly
1. ~ 20 ova begin maturing
2. Only one completes the
maturation process

III. FERTILIZATION
A. Definition: penetration of the ovum
