SERVICE TERRITORY:
Dominion delivers electricity to more than 2 million homes and businesses in Virginia and northeastern
North Carolina. In Virginia, we operate under the name Dominion Virginia Power. The Virginia service
territory encompasses the northwestern, central, and eastern portions of the Commonwealth –
approximately 65% of Virginia’s total land area. However, this area accounts for approximately 80% of
Virginia’s population. Included in this area are the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC; the I-81 corridor
between Lexington and Harrisonburg; Richmond, VA (state capital); and the Tidewater areas of Virginia
Beach and Norfolk. In North Carolina, we operate under the name Dominion North Carolina Power. The
North Carolina service territory extends from the I-95 corridor between Roanoke Rapids and Rocky
Mount eastward to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Our service territory in both North Carolina and
Virginia is not all encompassing in that certain areas are provided electricity by electric cooperatives or
via municipal utilities.
STATES SERVED:
NC, VA

approximately 28,200 megawatts of generation, 11,000 miles of natural gas transmission, gathering and

natural gas storage facility with 947 billion cubic feet of storage capacity and serves retail energy
customers in 15 states. Corporate headquarters are in Richmond, Va. Dominion's strategy is to be a

businesses where 40 percent of the nation’s energy is consumed.
