Spectrum analysis:
in spectrum analysis, the traditional heterodyne receiver concept is still valid, but has been
enhanced by powerful signal processing capabilities.

IRIG 106 Basic: Test Data Acquisition/Processing Systems and Architectures

This short course will provide an understanding of test data acquisition and processing concepts in a
concise manner and focused on measurement accuracy. An overview of the most common systems
and their architectures will be presented. It will be explained, how the IRIG 106-13 standard
contributes for equipment-to-equipment compatibility, interoperability and interchangeability.
Tradeoffs faced by the Instrumentation crew and future trends will be presented. This short course
will also provide the background for understanding other ETC short courses.
