Welcome to Metrax GmbH! We are a company, founded in 1973 in Rottweil, Southern Germany. We
have been developing, producing and distributing high quality medical equipment for emergency
medical care over 30 years. Our brand PRIMEDICTM offers a comprehensive product range of external
defibrillators for all areas of application. Safety and quality are our primary concerns – it goes without
saying, therefore, every unit is assembled and configured in our own manufacturing facility. In other
words, Made in Germany through and through.
A comprehensive quality assurance system in accordance with ISO 13485:2003 and extensive

In Europe about 300,000 people a year die as a result of a sudden heart attack, the No.1 cause
of death in the Western world. A sudden heart attack starts with an uncontrolled fluttering of the
heart chamber, interrupting the pumping function of the heart, without immediate First Aid this
leads to death within minutes. This short period between life and death is the only chance to save
the patient’s life. The rapid and immediate deployment of an external defibrillator, combined with
manual cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, helps to significantly increase the chances of survival,
(currently this is less than 5 percent without treatment).
In the knowledge of the hectic and especially demanding conditions experienced in such a
situation, Metrax GmbH is developing user-friendly and efficient equipment with user guidance
that accompanies and supports the First Aider throughout the entire rescue.

The complete defibrillator programme from PRIMEDICTM covers both automatic
defibrillators (HeartSave AED) and professional defibrillators (DefiMonitor XD range),
each of which are characterised by specific qualities:
Safety – PRIMEDICTM equipment incorporates very high levels of safety and lightning-fast
availability for use. For example, the equipment routinely carries out self-tests during inactive
stand-by periods in order to be fully operational and shock ready when used.
User-friendliness – PRIMEDICTM defibrillators are clearly laid out and provide simple and easily
understandable operator guidance.
Technology – PRIMEDICTM units are kept fully up to date with the latest state of the art technology
through continuous development.
Robustness – The construction of PRIMEDIC TM devices is proven even under rough deployment
conditions: impact-absorbing foam inserts and a sturdy plastic casing protect the technology and
electronics.
Impulse discharge – In all PRIMEDICTM equipment we use the heart-protection technology of the
bi-phasic defibrillation impulse CCD.
Flexibility – Die PRIMEDIC TM equipment is modular. Each version of the equipment type can, if
necessary, be expanded to the maximum equipment level. This makes the decision as to which
unit to purchase easier.
