Transcript
Pejman Soroosh is a Research Senior Scientist at Janssen Research and Development, San
Diego. He received his Ph.D. in 2008 from Tohoku University, Japan.
He performed
postdoctoral work at La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology (LIAI) where he investigated
the mechanism by which co-stimulatory molecules on T cells contribute to dysregulation of
airway tolerance and development of asthma. In 2010 he joined the Immunology Department
at Janssen R&D where he was involved in the drug discovery efforts as a project leader and
responsible for direct scientific management of internal and external projects. In 215 he
co-founded Immunology Expletory Science Lab (I-ExSL) within Immunology department. The
objective of his team is to characterize and define innate immune responses at mucosal
surfaces; investigate the mechanisms underlying regulation of these responses and determine
how these pathways become disrupted in chronic human diseases; and to identify novel
therapeutic targets to prevent or limit dysregulated host immune response at mucosal tissues.
His recent research contributed insights into the regulation and maintenance of Innate
Lymphoid cells (ILCs).
