OUR TEAM
Orthodontics is a specialised field of dentistry. A specialist orthodontist first undergoes all the training
of a general dentist and then dedicates an additional three years training to qualify in this specialised
field. All our orthodontists are members of the British Orthodontic Society.
Practice Principal
Dr Angelos Alvanos D.M.D., M.S.Ortho. (St Louis, USA) Practice Principal, British Lingual Orthodontic Society (BLOS)
Angelos was born in Tampa, Florida (USA) and obtained his Master of Science degree in Orthodontics at
the Saint Louis University (MO, USA). He has undertaken research projects for the Centre of advanced
Dental Education in the USA, as well as multiple orthodontic techniques, including certification in
the use of Invisalign and lingual braces. Angelos received a nomination for Best Orthodontist in 2013,
which acknowledges his commitment to excellence and success in Orthodontic Care. He is a member of
the American Association of Orthodontists, the British Orthodontic Society, British Lingual Society and
the World Federation of Orthodontists.

Treatment is carried out by Dr Alvanos and our Orthodontic Therapists. Our therapists are specialized,
qualified and experienced members of our team, who are registered with the General Dental Council.
They undertake certain clinical procedures in the practice under instruction from our principal
orthodontist.

Invisalign consists of a series of clear aligners, that are made specifically
for you and fit (almost invisibly) over your teeth. A consultation will
determine if Invisalign is suitable for you.
If you are suitable to receive Invisalign treatment, the orthodontist will take precise impressions of
your teeth and it is from these that the custom-made aligners are created. Each aligner is worn for two
weeks and then changed for the next one in the series, moving your teeth little by little.
Aligners are removed for eating, drinking and your oral hygiene routine.
