James R. McKee, D.D.S.
Dr. Jim McKee graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1984
and has been in private practice since 1984 in Downers Grove, Illinois. His
practice interests include diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint
dysfunction as well as esthetic and functional restorative dentistry. He practices
with his wife, Lisa McKee, DDS whose practice is limited to orthodontic treatment.
Jim has lectured nationally and internationally on the managerial skills and the
clinical concepts necessary to implement the principles of complete dentistry. His
lectures interests include coordinating the new patient examination for increased
case acceptance, treatment planning for predictable restorative/esthetic dentistry
and management of the restorative practice.
His research areas are the
repeatability of centric relation as a condylar position and centric relation as a
physiologic condylar position with published studies in the Journal of Prosthetic
Dentistry
Professionally, Jim is a member of the American Dental Association, The Illinois
State Dental Society and a past-president of the West Suburban Branch of the
Chicago Dental Society. Jim is the founder and president of the Dawson-Pankey
Study Club of DuPage County started in 1991. He is a visiting faculty member at
The Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida . He provides professional
leadership as President of the Dawson Alumni Association.
In his role as
president, Dr. McKee brings over twenty years of developing study clubs and
learning materials for Dawson based educational programs all over the country.
He is also a past faculty member of the L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne,
Florida. Additionally, he is a Past-President of the American Equilibration Society,
a member of the Executive Council of the American Academy of Restorative
Dentistry and a member of both the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and
the Academy of General Dentistry.
Personally, Jim and Lisa have two children, Patrick and Carolyn. Outside interests
include coaching various sports, golf, music and family time.
