Horn in the West - June 26 - August 8
Horn in the West, written by Kermit Hunter, follows frontiersman Daniel Boone and
his band of mountain settlers as they struggle against the British militia during the
American Revolutionary War in the Appalachian mountain region of North Carolina.
Celebrating 63 years! (Admission)
The Lost Colony, a symphonic drama, written by Paul Green depicts the valiant
struggle of 117 men, women and children to settle the New World in 1587. They
disappeared more than 400 years ago without a trace and this continues to be one of
history’s greatest mysteries. Celebrating 78 years! (Admission)

Peace is the story of the conflict faced by the peaceful Quakers during the

From This Day Forward is the story of the Waldenses, a religious sect which arose in
southeast France in the late 1100s. It centers on the struggle to survive persecution in
their homeland and their arrival in North Carolina in 1893 to establish a colony at

Tom Dooley: A Wilkes County Legend recounts the famous 1860's lover's triangle that
became one of the nation's first highly publicized crimes of passion. Performed at
Fort Hamby Amphitheatre in Wilkesboro, the drama brings to life the romance,
jealousy, and mystery surrounding the death of Laura Foster.

Texas, the Official Play of the State of Texas, is set against an authentic tapestry of
history. The show’s fictional characters bring to life the stories, struggles and
triumphs of the settlers of the Texas Panhandle in the 1800's. The show combines
song and dance with a generous helping of Texas humor, spellbinding lighting, and
special fire and water effects. The “Dancing Waters of TEXAS!” and nightly fireworks
highlight the Grand Finale.
