DON’T CLOSE THE CURTAIN ON NYSTI.
RESTORE FUNDING FOR THEATER EDUCATION!
The New York State Theatre Institute
has provided theatrical, educational
and cultural experiences to thousands
of children and teachers for 36 years.
Now the governor wants to close the
curtain on this unique educational
institution by cutting off state funds
and changing the statute that
recognizes NYSTI as a valuable
state-funded service to young,
diverse New Yorkers.
The governor’s actions would result
in the loss of $1.5 million in local
economic benefits, severely curtail
NYSTI’s service to youngsters and
their families, and put 33 people
out of work.
Don’t let this happen!
Join United University Professions in
telling lawmakers to keep NYSTI and
theater education alive in New York!
