1. Type your list of words on the computer. Print your list.
*2. Make an acrostic with your words. Write each word up and down on your paper, one letter to a line...
3. Write a story using at least ten of the words. Underline the words.
4. Make flashcards to help you study. Bring them in to receive credit.
5. Design a spelling game. It can be a board game, a card game, a guessing game, or some other idea.
6. Take a practice test at home. Write any missed words 3 times each. Have your parents sign it.
*7. Write the definitions for your words including the parts of speech and pronunciation. You can use
Dictionary.com or WordCentral.com to look up some of the definitions of the words.
8. Scramble all of your words. Give them to a friend to unscramble. Bring both to class.
*9.Cut out letters from magazines and newspapers to make a collage out of your words.
10. Write a letter to a friend/relative, in proper letter format, using at least 10 of the spelling words.
Underline each word.
11.Write the words and circle all of the vowels/underline all of the consonants.
12.Print each word. Next to it, write it in cursive.
13.Write a synonym, antonym, or homonym for each word and label in a chart format.
*14.Make spelling pyramids. Write the 1st letter. On the next line, write the 1st and 2nd letters. On the
3rd line, write the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd letters, and so on.
15.Write a poem using at least ten of your spelling words.
16.Divide each word into syllables (use a dictionary to help you).
*17.Write your letters in glue on heavy paper, and then sprinkle Jell­O over the words.
18.Write a sentence for 10 of your spelling words, being sure to underline your spelling words.
*19.Write your words adding or subtracting one letter at a time. The result will be a pyramid of words.
20.Write your words 3 times each in cursive.
21.Write your word and then write at least 2 words made from each.
***On Wednesday, you will take a pretest on the spelling words. The words you miss will be required to
learn by Friday for the final test. If you make a 100 on Wednesday, you will have NO spelling homework
Wednesday or Thursday night.The homework on Wednesday and Thursday nights requires all the spelling
words, not just missed.
