 Identifying Your Indak Switch
Attention: If you need a GM or Ford Part, most likely the switch is proprietary.
Therefore, your first step should be to contact your local dealer.
If the dealer cannot help you, please feel free to contact us.
Click on the link that best describes your switch:
1. Is it a rotary switch? (Do you twist a knob?)
2. Is it a lever switch?
3. Is it a key switch?
4. Is it a toggle switch?
5. Is it a push button switch?
6. Do you need something different than you are seeing here?
Rotary Switches
1. When you turn the knob, how many times does it “click”? Include the beginning position in
your count.
2. How long is the bushing? Measure only the threaded portion.
Face the switch towards you. Turn the knob as far left (OFF) as possible. If there are 4 or 5
terminals on the back, make sure the single one in the middle is on top.
3. What is the "D" flat position of the shaft? Is it 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock or 9 o'clock?
4. What is the "D" flat position of the bushing? Is it 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock or 9 o'clock?
Here is a picture of a switch with the shaft
at 6 o'clock and the bushing at 3 o'clock Æ
5. How many terminals are on the back? Are they copper or steel?
6. Are the rivets copper or steel?
7. Is it a square case? Is it a square case with a potentiometer on top? Are there resistor coils?
Potentiometer on top Æ
8. What is the application of the switch?
9. On what type of vehicle is it used? What is the year and model number?
10. Who is the manufacturer?
Once you have answered these questions, either proceed to the Rotary Switch Page for more information or
contact us and we will be glad to help determine exactly what switch you need.

Lever Switches
1. How many positions does the switch have, including “OFF”?
2. Is the switch OFF in the Left or Right position? To determine this, place the feet on the
bracket down and the lever facing toward you:
3. Measuring from the pivot point to the end, how long is the lever?
4. Does the lever have any special characteristics, (i.e., bends, holes, markings)?
5. What is the application of the switch?
6. On what type of vehicle / tractor is it used? What is the year and model number?
7. Who is the manufacturer?
Once you have answered these questions, either proceed to the Lever Switch Page for more information
or contact us and we will be glad to help determine exactly what switch you need.

Key Switches
Note: With key switches your best choice for accurate identification is to send us your switch.
1. How long is the bushing?
2. How many positions does the key turn?
3. Is the key milled or stamped?
4. How many terminals does it have?
5. How many drain holes does it have?
6. What is the application of the switch?
7. On what type of vehicle / tractor is it used? What is the year and model number?
8. Who is the manufacturer?
Once you have answered these questions, either proceed to the Key Switch Page for more information or
contact us and we will be glad to help determine exactly what switch you need.

Toggle Switches
Note: With toggle switches the best choice for accurate identification is to send us your switch.
1. Does it have a "pull-out" lock-type feature?
2. Does it spring return? If so, from what position?
3. How many positions does the switch have?
4. What is the application of the switch?
5. On what type of vehicle / tractor is it used? What is the year and model number?
6. Who is the manufacturer?
Once you have answered these questions, either proceed to the Toggle Switch Page for more information
or contact us and we will be glad to help determine exactly what switch you need.

Push Button Switches
Note: With push button switches the best choice for accurate identification is to send us your switch.
1. Is the circuit normally open or normally closed?
2. What is the mounting style? Is the switch screwed in place or is it threaded?
3. Is the plunger plastic or metal?
4. Does the switch have a rubber boot?
5. What is the application of the switch?
6. On what type of vehicle / tractor is it used? What is the year and model number?
7. Who is the manufacturer?

I'm looking for something different than I'm seeing here…
Our experts will be glad to help you!
Please answer as many of the following questions as you can:
1. What is the application?
2. On what type of vehicle / tractor is it used?
3. What is the year and model number?
4. Who is the manufacturer?
Please review the questions in the above categories, and measure/describe the switch along the same
lines, where applicable. Of course, sending us a photo(s) or the actual switch is always the preferred
method for identification!
Once you have answered the questions, contact us and we will be glad to help you
determine which switch you need.
