DESCRIPTION
Purpose built - The system architecture, functionality, enclosure, connectors and structure is
designed for high availability 24/7 operating transportation applications.
Resistant - The DURION BUS-PC is designed to withstand the mechanical, electrical and
environmental stress encountered in extreme bus installations in arctic and tropical conditions.
Wide temperature range - A wide operating temperature range ensures reliable continuous
operation from -20~ +80°C (+80°C No wireless operation).
Thermal design - Structural heat dissipation is used to increase operational reliability and to
guarantee the wide operating temperature range. The DURION BUS-PC bases on the powereffective Intel Celeron series x86 compatible processor.

Wireless connectivity - Comprehensive set of internal wireless terminals for versatile connectivity
with internal integrated antenna (Bluetooth) and external antennas:
• Cellular (3G/LTE) and WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) and Optional Bluetooth Radio
• High Sensitivity GPS Receiver
• Audio voice call support using dedicated speaker/mic port
Positioning – The internal 50-Channel GPS receiver can be used for timing, positioning or location
based control.
Integrated I/O – 10/100Mbit Ethernet interface, 4+2 24Vdc Digital I/O, 2x USB and 2x RS-232/485
Serial ports and CAN 2.0 bus can be use for external device or peripheral connectivity.
Display – A CRT interface supports resolutions up to XGA (1024x768).
The DURION™ BUS-PC is a rugged purpose-built uncompromising fully integrated Vehicle Control Unit targeting demanding bus
installations. This device optimally combines wired and wireless communication interfaces, peripherals, satellite based navigation

capabilities with a high efficiency 4 generation Core i3 processor. Designed in an ultra-compact “heavy duty” die cast powder
coated IP65 conduction cooled aluminium enclosure, the DURION BUS-PC including an IP65 “System Connector” for all power,
control and I/O, M12 D-coded connector for Ethernet and locking TNC connectors for external antennas for WiFi, 3G, GPS and
camera inputs. The locking sealed System Connector optimizes the design of cable harness systems of the bus.
DURION BUS-PC has an integrated vehicle class power supply with a wide input range with an active under-and overvoltage clamp. In
case the input voltage exceeds 38VDc, the system will disconnect from the vehicle battery and operate the system from its internal
UPS protecting the system. The active overvoltage clamp will accept indefinite overvoltage up to 60VDc and transients up to 100VDc.
An ignition control signal can be used to control the start-up and delayed power-off conditions of the system. An internal UPS will
keep the controller operational for up to 10 seconds if the main battery fails or there is a power dip. A wide operating temperature
range and IP65 ingress protection rating ensures operation in arctic, desert or tropical environments.
Peripheral Interface
The DURION BUS-PC optimally balances integration and functionality. Apart from standard USB, RS232/485 Serial and Audio I/O the
BUS-PC includes a full CAN 2.0 interface, option for 4x Composite video Inputs, two 0-30V analogue inputs, as well as isolated 24Dc
digital Inputs and open collector 24VDc isolated digital outputs. A CRT display interface can connect to an external driver display. A
2,5” SATA FLASH HDD can be used to store the OS, application and data. The BUS-PC is ideal for systems that require video recording
and storage combined with advanced multi-technology wireless communication, vehicle location and onboard system control.
