A new compact Power package:
With a 75% PCB footprint area saving over the SMA and a low profile 0.7
mm max height, the PowerDI TM323 is rated at a remarkable 500mW to
750mW depending on PCB layout. The PowerDI TM323 product offering
includes a comprehensive line of Schottky rectifiers optimized for low
power consumption to conserve battery power. Schottkys include the
PD3S0230, a drop-in compatible alternative to the BAT254 packaged in
SOD110. Additional Schottkys include the PD3Sxx series offering low
forward voltage and reverse leakage versions rated up to 1A forward
current. The PowerDI TM323 product offering also includes a 500mW rated
PD3Zxx Zener series which is a drop-in compatible alternative to the
BZX284C series (SOD110) and the PD3SD2580 switching diode is offered
as a drop-in replacement to the BAS216 (SOD110).

Traditionally centered around subminiature surface-mount discrete
devices, the acquisition brings adjacent technologies including Hall-effect
ICs, analog power management ICs like linear and switching regulators,
Operational Amplifiers, Comparators, Reset ICs and USB Power Switches.

The PowerDI TM323 package completes the PowerDI TM123 and PowerDI
TM5 families. The PowerDI TM123 features a 1W package power
dissipation and is a drop-in equivalent to packages known in the industry
as SOD-123FL, SMF or SMP and M1F. It is also a potential replacement for
products offered in the SOD87 package. The low profile, package (1.0mm
max height) offers a 59% PCB area reduction from SMA. The PowerDI TM5
family provides a 1.5W power dissipation, a max package height of
1.15mm, and a 48% PCB area reduction versus SMC. All PowerDI parts are
qualified to the AEC-Q101 standards for high reliability and are compliant
with RoHS environmental standards.
AP15xx switching regulator family
The AP1501 is a monolithic 150Khz PWM Buck DC/DC Converter capable of
driving a 3A load without requiring external transistors. With a high input
voltage rating up to 45V, AP1501 has embedded internal over-current
protection (OCP) with current limiting and oscillation frequency switching
down to protect the chip. The AP1501 is a competitive alternative to the
LM2596.
The AP1510, a 3A step-down switching regulator with PWM control,
provides low-ripple power, high efficiency and excellent transient
characteristics. On chip protection includes externally adjustable OCP and
internal current limiting. The typical efficiency is 91%, higher than the
AP1501. The wide input voltage range from 3.6V to 23V is well suited for
use in adapter-based high input voltage applications including ADSL
Modems, Telecom Equipment, LCD Monitors, DVD-Video Player and PC
Motherboards.

Diodes Inc. : new compact power packages, LED drivers, switching regulators&omni-polar hall sensors
The AP1537 is a 2A step-down switching regulator with PWM control. With
an input voltage range up to 18V, it is perfect for use in LCD monitors,
telecom equipment, computer peripherals, etc. AP1537 features ultra high
efficiency with MLCC type external capacitors, saving cost and improving
performance. AP1537 also includes built-in OCP function with current
limiting provides short circuit protection.
AH180- Low Power omni-polar Hall Effect Switch
The AH180, sensing the presence of either a north or south magnetic field,
is optimized to meet the low-power, low operating voltage requirements of
electronic sensing applications such as position sensor in battery powered
portable equipment. It is particularly suitable for cover detector
applications in cellular phones and notebook PCs. By sensing both
magnetic polarities, the omni-polar hall sensor eliminates the need to
orient the magnet polarity, increasing end product manufacturing ease.
The AH180 has an oscillator integrated that maintains a 0.1% duty cycle
for on-time and a latched open drain output. The output of the Hall-effect
sensor during sample time is latched and held until the next sample
occurs. This technique allows for an average supply current less than 15
µA, making the device a perfect fit for battery powered applications.
AH180 operates from the -40°C to +85°C temperature range and is
available in three packages which include 3-pin SIP, SC-59 and the space
saving low profile DFN package. The Omni-polar Hall Family will be
completed early 2007 with a 24V input voltage version with a typical
operating current of 1.5mA targeting industrial applications.
