Mary’s Must Haves
May 27th, 2013
Campanula ‘Blue Waterfall’, No.1 – This 8-10” tall spreader is ready to fill containers or drape over
rock walls. A superb crop! Pots are packed with fresh green foliage and buds are just beginning to
open.
Canna ‘Tropical Bronze Scarlet’, (new) 4 Qt. – What a burst of color! The scarlet-red flowers look
spectacular next to the dark bronze-burgundy foliage.
Coreopsis ‘Mercury Rising’, (new) No.1 – We might need to fan ourselves when these start to bloom!
Buds are forming and the velvet red flowers will soon open and will continue to bloom all summer.
Pots are nice and full.
Dianthus ‘Firewitch’, No.1 – Pink Pinks!
Digitalis mertonensis, No.1 & No.2 – At home in the cottage garden with a white picket fence, or on
your wooden bench. The dark green foliage is filling out the pots and some of the No.2s are beginning
to bloom.
Heucherella ‘Blue Ridge’, (new) No.1 – The misty bluish color of the velvety leaves inspires
daydreams of hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains and humming a Bill Monroe tune. No kidding, this
Heucherella is all that!
Sedum ‘Lime Zinger’, (new) 1 Qt. – The new Sunsparkler series has a winner with this creeping
stonecrop perfect for hot, dry spots. Attractive rounded apple green leaves form a dense spreading
mound and late summer brings long blooming pink flowers.
Stokesia ‘Peachie’s Pick’, No.1 – Said to be the best Stokes Aster on the market by those in the know,
sturdy and compact nice- looking foliage produces long blooming blue flowers from June to July.
Densely packed foliage looks great!
