JOB ROLE: Marketing Communications Manager – 12 month contract
Zen Internet has a reputation for delivering high quality, customer centric Internet services for
businesses, consistently recognised through numerous awards, independent websites and media
reviews. An honest, straightforward yet innovative approach to service has driven this success, where
focus on quality, not quantity has prevailed.
The successful candidate will lead, manage and develop our corporate marketing communications team
of 4 direct reports. The team is responsible for PR, external and internal communications, branding and
online marketing activities.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Marketing Manager from a technology driven sector with
demonstrable experience of developing and managing high quality B2B communications.
The Marketing Communications Manager reports to the Marketing Manager.
Key Responsibilities










To develop, execute and manage Zen’s Marketing Communications strategy and activities including
management of a multi-disciplined Marketing Communications team
In conjunction with the Marketing Manager:
o develop and deliver integrated marketing campaigns which drive revenue growth,
increase awareness of Zen within target markets and meet strategic objectives
o work with Product Management and Sales to develop customer and prospect campaigns
that generate leads to support Zen’s products and services
o develop and manage the annual customer and product centric marketing plans
o develop and manage the brand and product positioning
Manage and deliver an integrated Marketing Communications strategy encompassing brand, PR
(media relations, speaker programmes, awards, trade organizations), CRM, CSR and online
(website, portals, ecommerce, digital marketing and social media)
Develop, execute and manage the above in a cost effective manner including regular reporting on
the effectiveness and impact of activity including ROI analysis
Co-ordinate market and customer analysis to improve understanding and positioning in the B2B
Internet services market
Manage and develop Zen’s online customer experience (pre and post sale) including online KPIs,
brand awareness and portal engagement
Oversee the production of customer marketing collateral and communications (including online
marketing campaigns, customer newsletter, case studies and testimonials, press releases,
whitepapers, social media updates, blog updates, video, internal communications) and the timely
updating of Marketing Communications owned print and digital content
Oversee and develop regional and national on and offline events (including educational seminars,
webinars, corporate hospitality, speaker opportunities and key media relations) and post event
analysis and reporting (including ROI)
Identify, recommend and manage external suppliers (including an external PR agency)
Management, development and motivation of the Marketing Communications team including regular
performance reviews, personal development and change management
Candidate Profile











Educated to degree level or equivalent
Substantial marketing experience gained within the technology sector and proven delivery of B2B
communications
Considerable experience managing, motivating and leading a multi-disciplinary marketing team
Strong analytical, project management and problem solving skills with high attention to detail
Enthusiastic, customer focused and commercially aware
Able to successfully manage multiple projects at the same time
Able to think creatively to identify and exploit business opportunities
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and to communicate at all levels
Flexible and consultative approach to working
Strong influencing / negotiation skills
