― Special Section on Data Engineering and Information Management ―
submit by June 22, 2016 -> June 29, 2016 (11:59PM Japan Standard Time)
published in April 2017
The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) announces a forthcoming special section
on “Data Engineering and Information Management”, which is published in Transactions on Information and Systems.
We invite submissions of original and unpublished papers in the field of wide range of data engineering, and particularly
encourage submissions on topics of emerging interest in engineering and management of Big Data.
1. Scope
Original papers on both theoretical and practical data engineering, and its related research are welcome to this
special section. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
– Core Technologies: file structure, storage, query processing, query languages, transaction processing, indexes,
stream processing, security and privacy
– Databases: cloud computing, distributed and parallel databases, multimedia databases, spatial and temporal
databases, mobile databases, scientific databases, XML and semi-structured databases, graph management, social
networks, sensor databases, data management in P2P and grid, data integration, probabilistic database, crowd
sourcing
– Information Retrieval: information extraction and summarization, information recommendation
– Data Mining: data warehouse, OLAP, data mining algorithms, text mining, Web mining
– Web Technologies: Web search engines, contents technologies, meta-data, semantic Web, Web services
– Applications: E-commerce, e-learning, digital libraries, data archive, information and data broadcasting,
visualization, user interfaces
Papers which are not on data engineering may be rejected without review.
2. Submission Guidelines:
– A manuscript should be prepared according to the guideline given in “The Information for Authors”
(http://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/mokuji_iss.html). We encourage the authors to use the IEICE Style File
(http://www.ieice.org/ftp/index-e.html). The preferred length of the manuscript is 8 pages for a PAPER and 2
pages for a LETTER with the format determined by the IEICE Style File.
– Submit the manuscript and transfer the copyright to the IEICE through the IEICE Web site
(https://review.ieice.org/regist/regist_baseinfo_e.aspx). Choose “[Special-DA] Data Engineering and
Information Management” in the menu of " Journal/Section " in the submission page.
– Inquiries:
