“Recycle: SHOW Creativity” Creative Competition Project

I.
The Project
To promote recycling and to encourage foreign nationals to actively respond to the
government’s recycling policy by using recycled materials commonly available in daily
life to design and create works featuring life styles and cultural characteristics of
different nationalities.
II. Organizers
1. Advisor: Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan
2. Organizer: Environmental Protection Bureau, Taichung City Government
3. Co-organizer: Labor Bureau, Education Bureau, and Social Affairs Bureau of
Taichung City Government
III. Participants
Teams formed by foreign nationals (including foreign workers and students) and new
immigrants. Each team should consist of at least one foreign national or one new
immigrant.
IV. Entries
1. Entries are not limited in presentation, material, or size. Participants are advised to
use a variety of recycled materials to create a work featuring life styles and cultural
characteristics.
2. Participants should fill in the Entry form, along with Copyright and Authorization for
Release of Personal Information form. Deliver or mail (postmarked by June 13,
2016) the forms to Waste Management Division of the Environmental Protection
Bureau.
3. Preliminary screening of the entries will be carried out by the activity group of the
organizers to make sure all entries and forms are complete (Incomplete submissions
will not receive further judgment). Entries will be judged by scholars and experts
invited by the Bureau. Finalists include one first prize winner, one second prize
winner, one third prize winner, two merit award winners, five quality award
winners, and five honorable mentions. Awards include money awards (all 15
finalists), medals (first to third prize winners and merit award winners), and
certificates of merit (quality award winners and honorable mentions). The total
money awards estimate 100,000 NT dollars.
4. Results of the competition will be announced on the Recycling website before June
25, 2016. Finalists will be invited to participate in the catwalk show and will be
presented awards in public.
5. Money awards will be taxed as required by law. The amount after deduction will be
awarded to the finalists.

V.
Evaluation and Awards
Evaluation Criteria
 Relevance to topic: recycling （10%）
 Nation features（10%）
 Variety of recycled materials（30%）
 Proportion of recycled materials（20%）
 Uniqueness and creativity（20%）
 Artistry and Esthetics （10%）
15 Finalists will be decided according to the results of the above evaluation. All will be invited
to participate in the catwalk show and presented awards in public.。
 $20,000 and a medal for first prize (one winner)
 $15,000 and a medal for second prize (one winner)
 $10,000 and a medal for third prize (one winner)
 $7,500 and a medal for merit award (two winners)
 $5,000 and a certificate of merit for quality award (five winners)
 $3,000 and a certificate of merit for honorable mentions (five winners)
Notes：1. Entries will be cancelled if required forms are not complete.
2. Each team can submit more than one entry work, but will only be awarded one prize
(the highest available prize).

Agreement
The team __________ hereby certifies that the submitted entry is an original
work created by the team and is in accordance with the copyright law. In case of
copyright dispute, the team assumes full liability. If awarded, the team agrees to
authorize the copyright of its entry to the Environmental Protection Bureau of the
Taichung City Government. The Bureau retains the right to publish, alter, or copy
the awarded entry.
The group agrees to authorize the Environmental Protection Bureau of the
Taichung City Government to use the representative member’s personal
information, including the name, national identification card number or passport
number, date of birth, telephone number, cell phone number, address, email,
pictures, etc for the purpose of joining “Recycle SHOW Creativity” competition.
The aforementioned information can only be used where it is needed for this
competition. The group agrees that the name, pictures, list of awards, video
footages, and reflections can be modified or used via booklets, newspapers,
magazines, advertisements, televisions, and Internet. The personal information
must be safeguarded by proper protection measurements and destruction
procedures, and must not be disclosed to a third party or distributed without the
representative member’s agreement or if not required by law. The group also
agrees that the competition uses and processes the personal information for
contact purposes after registration. The group understands that this agreement is
in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and related
regulations.
※Issues not included herein shall be governed by Personal Information Protection Act
and other related regulations.
