January Newsletter Summary
In the January letter we discussed reasons why we become ill and what the primary
causes might be.
We concluded that if we are subject to stress over a prolonged period our health may
well suffer in one way or another.
Primary causes included issues concerning the environment i.e. fear due to mass
hysteria, family issues, toxins and earth energies. We also introduced the possible
effects of inappropriate subconscious programming and perceptions.
To sum up therefore we might conclude that where we have situations resulting in
disharmony the result will, sooner or later, be disease.
Why does the NHS spend £106 Billion taking care of our “health”?
Looking no further afield than the UK we see a great deal of disharmony, (faithfully
reported by the media) and it therefore follows that we should not be surprised that
the result is a great deal of disease of one kind or another; in fact the NHS will spend
around £106 billion in 2012 and similar amounts in future so we might reasonably
ask “is this working?”
Don’t get me wrong on this. I am here today due to the care I received via the NHS in
the 1950’s as a small child, for which I am eternally grateful. It’s simply that we need
to understand how allopathic medicine works and what its limitations are.
We see that many of us for one reason or another will get ill at some time in our lives
so lets now get to the point of this discussion which is “What can we do about it?”
What happens when we visit our GP?
For most of us if we find our health has been compromised or has deteriorated in
some way the normal course of action will be to visit our GP who has received
training according to what is known as the standard medical model. In the 10-15
minute interview our GP will look to a diagnosis i.e. identify that part of our body that
is not functioning correctly and attempt to address it by prescribing certain chemicals
that are intended to bring the part back to normal functioning. The result for many is
that it works, for some it doesn’t and for a few there is an abreaction of some kind. If
the GP is unable to offer an immediate diagnosis they will normally conduct some
basic tests or refer us to a specialist. Again, for many the outcome is satisfactory, for
some it’s protracted and for a few it’s terminal.
What’s my point? It’s this; in each instance here the focus is on the disease and
treating the symptoms whilst the cause will probably remain unknown or unexplored.
Why is this important? It’s because so often we find that whilst we get temporary
relief after some time the problem reoccurs. This may result in the GP prescribing
some different chemicals which may do the trick or may not…..and so on.
Let’s deal with accidents and emergencies here because this is also important. Again
our NHS does a really good job in helping us as a result of accidents and they
deserve our sincere thanks in this respect. They do however deal with symptoms
rather than address the root causes which are often a key factor in why the
“accident” happened in the first place.
What’s Newtonian Mechanics got to do with it?
So we see that our standard medical model approach to the subject of health is
based on what might be described as “Newtonian Mechanics”. {Sir Isaac Newton
(1642-1727) was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural
philosopher, alchemist, and theologian, who has been considered by many to be the
greatest and most influential scientist who ever lived}
Newton’s theories dealt with the effects of forces on matter and was reductionist in its
approach i.e. to understand how “something” works we take it apart, examine the
parts and thereby gain an understanding of how the whole “something” works. To
summarise then, according to Newton the only thing that matters is “matter”.
….and Quantum Mechanics?
So, it’s clear that we witness the successful application of Newtonian Mechanics in
our daily lives as bridges stay in place, aircraft fly and our automobiles normally
remain on the highway. But and this is a big but its only part of the picture……...
enter the notion of Quantum Mechanics. {In the context of quantum mechanics, the
wave–particle duality of energy and matter and the uncertainty principle provide a
unified view of the behaviour of photons, electrons and other atomic-scale objects}
It is within the field of Quantum Mechanics that we find alternative approaches to the
standard medical model.
How can I best describe this Newtonian verses Quantum views (and science has
been attempting to sort this out since Einstein!) which appear to be contradictory but
are inextricably linked?.
Let’s examine something we are very familiar with “light”. From a Newtonian
standpoint if we set up an experiment to demonstrate that light travels as particles
(matter) we can do this and the result is the photon. Similarly if we set up an
experiment to demonstrate that light travels as waves (energy) we can do so i.e. we
discover that light can be defined in terms of the colours of the rainbow as a
vibrational frequency and wavelength.
So if we look at our bodies we see that they comprise a certain amount of “matter”
i.e. you can touch it as is has a certain presence and it can be described in terms of
its mass in pounds or kilograms. Also it can be demonstrated by, for example Kirlian
photography that our bodies are characterised by an energy field known as the “Auric
Field”.
What’s Light got to do with it?
Now for the interesting bit. According to Einstein matter and energy are connected as
shown by the famous equation
E = MC2
(E is energy of a body, M is its mass and C is the speed of light).
Energy and Mass are thus linked by a constant known as the speed of light, C. It
therefore follows that if either our energy field or physical presence becomes out of
balance then equilibrium can be restored by the application of (light) energy and as
2
we have previously noted light can exist as pure energy (with defined frequency and
wavelength) or matter (as the photon)
This is I admit a simplistic approach and no doubt those more familiar with Quantum
Mechanics could produce learned papers in support of this or in denial of it. It
therefore boils down to what we as individuals feel is suitable and it’s why I believe
that energy therapy can be used in order to assist us in maintaining our health and
wellbeing.
What form does energy therapy take?
There are many forms including:Spiritual Healing, Bio-Resonance, Crystal Healing, Light-Life Therapy, Reiki, Hands
on Healing, Aroma Therapy, etc.
Each of these modalities seeks to help us achieve an acceptable state of balance
and health, thus enabling us to get on with our lives and the mission we need to be
working on.
As yet we do not understand everything we need to know about energy therapy (or
quantum mechanics for that matter) but it is clear from the reports received from
clients that for many this therapy brings positive results.
So why doesn’t it work for everyone all of the time?
Yes, this is a very good question and one that I have asked myself on various
occasions.
It appears that there are a number of factors that can influence the result of energy
therapy including:The vibrational level of the healer or energy practitioner
Interference from field effects
Resistance on the part of the patient, either conscious or subconscious
Issues concerning Karma and previous incarnations
Faith and Trust
That’s a fair bit to take on board so let’s take a look at these limiting factors in the
March issue.
Best Wishes
