Compare and contrast the prominent religions in Southern and Eastern Asia: Buddhism, Hinduism, and Shintoism and
the philosophy of Confucianism. (Note that Asians also practice the other three religions as the rest of the world:
Christianity, Judaism, and Islam).
Assignments on religion:
1. Use a 3-part Venn Diagram to compare and contrast these Asian religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, and Shintoism.
a. Give five important facts about each one
b. Give three separate points about how each is similar to the others.
c. Give three distinct facts on how all three types of religions are similar to each other.
2. Summarize your findings on the religion of Confucianism. Answer these questions in your summary:
a. Who was Confucius?
b. What are the beliefs he thought his followers?
c. How is Confucianism different from Buddhism, Hinduism, and Shintoism?
d. Are there any resemblances between Confucianism and the three religions of the Middle East:
Christianity, Islam, and Judaism? What are those similarities?
