COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is the second half of the Pre-Algebra A/B sequence and concludes a student’s
preparation for Algebra I.


Textbook: Glencoe Math – Built to the Common Core Course 3.
Writing Utensil: PENCIL!!

TESTS/QUIZZES:



Tests and quizzes must be done in pencil.
Tests will be announced well in advance.
Quizzes may be announced or unannounced and will take a variety of formats.
HOMEWORK:




Completion of homework is essential for success in this class.
Homework should be done in pencil.
No credit will be given for homework which is done carelessly.
Late homework will be accepted, but 10% will be deducted for each school day it is late.
After the 9th school day, no credit will be given.
MAKEUP POLICY:
When you are absent, makeup assignments are due within the acceptable time frame, which is one
day for each day you missed. (For example, if you miss two excused days, you have two days to
make up the work). You must complete both classwork and homework to receive full credit for
your homework grade. Makeup work should be placed in the designated bin along with any
homework collected the day you were absent.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT:
The following steps will be taken in case of disruptions in class:
 Verbal warning
 Conference with student
 Parental contact (phone or email)
 Administrative intervention and consequences
Certain offenses will result in automatic administrative intervention and consequences.
