CHORDS Conference
The annual CHORDS conference will be held by Connecting Health
Organizations for Regional Disease Surveillance in Annecy, France, March
17-19, 2010.
The purpose of the conference are: (i) to collectively review WHO IHR and
One health challenge and opportunities in networks; (ii) create a community of
practice to address these challenge and opportunities; (iii) hear development
representatives about funding climate. The conference will bring all the
regional networks on disease surveillance, including MBDS, South Asian,
East African, South African, Southern Europe, and Middle East, FAO and
OIE.

IMCAPI-2010-Ha Noi-Vietnam
The 7th International Ministerial Conference on Animal and Pandemic
Influenza: The Way Forward’ (IMCAPI-2010-Ha Noi-Vietnam) from 19 to 21
April 2010 in Ha Noi. The objective of the conference are to provide a platform
to share experiences, identify challenges, develop solutions and provide
support to respond to highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and prepare
for a possible pandemic. IMCAPI Ha Noi 2010 is expected to set a new global
milestone by providing a way forward on animal and pandemic influenza, and
endorsing the need for further international collaboration to address emerging
health threats arising at the interface between animals, humans and our
changing environment.

The ninth European Wildlife Diseases Association (EWDA)
conference, to be held from 13 to 16 September 2010 on the Dutch island of
Vlieland.
The main theme of the conference is: Healthy wildlife, Healthy people. 75% of
human emerging infectious diseases arise from animals, and mainly wild
animals. To address this theme, we are inviting various medical researchers
and public health specialists to this wildlife disease meeting to directly explore
the interface between wildlife and public health. Therefore, this meeting will be
of interest for people from a variety of disciplines, including public health
professionals, wildlife disease specialists, ecologists, biologists and
epidemiologists.
