At this point, you will learn a little about the composer who wrote the piece of music
that you have been listening to. Please read the composer biography.
Encounter 4: Discuss: After learning about the composer, what do you think the
composer’s intent was? (Why do you think they wrote this piece, what were they trying
to convey?) Use details in your response.
Encounter 5:
Discuss: Given the instruments you already have access to, how could you create a
similar piece? Use details in your discussion.
Extension:
In groups, create and act out a music inspired story for the class to go with the music as
the music is playing. The teacher will give additional instructions.
