Purposes of Advertising Advertisers don’t always make an advertisement to sell a particular product. In fact there are a number of purposes of advertising. Generally ads for national and regional marketers have quite different purposes from those placed by local or community advertisers. Assignment: (70 marks) Use the text “Marketing: A Canadian Perspective” read pages 233 – 250. 1. Define the five forms of advertising and give a couple real-life examples of each form. 2. List the 15 different purposes of advertising. a. Give one example of each purpose. You may use the internet for ads, magazines from home, newspapers, fliers etc. If you bring something from home, scan it and place the image in your PowerPoint slide. b.
