Alcohol Advertising Watch an alcohol ad (Bud, Corona, Captain Morgan, etc.) on TV or through your computer (YouTube has a million ads) and answer the following questions. 1. Describe the ad. What is being shown? What claims if any are being made? (this question does not involve any interpretation or thinking about the hidden messages of the ad, just literally describe what you see). What is the product? What is happening? 2. Who do you think is the target audience for the ad and why? 3. Describe the messages that this ad is trying to put into the minds of the audience about this alcohol product. Usually these messages are not said directly but instead the ad is intended to lead us to believe certain things about the product. 4. Are these “hidden” messages true or untrue? Give reasons for your opinion.
