Hipster Unit: Marketing Your Product
1. Based on your deductive analysis, what type of product would most appeal to your hipster
demographic? List at least 3 and provide reasons.
2. Conduct some informal market research. Record your findings. You must include 2 websites
(one must be a commercial website marketing to hipsters and one must be informational).
Print out enough information to show me that you can use the information. Conduct some
interviews. Talk to some hipsters. You may use Facebook and Twitter and Blogs. I will need
some sort of proof that you have done this.
3. Based on your research, choose one product that best suits your group’s demographic. Which
one did your group choose and why? Type up a one paragraph research analysis. (This is
one per group--work on it together and then someone type it).
4. Using the handout you used for studying the ads on Monday, set up a marketing plan for your
product. Describe each of the areas on Monday’s handout and make sure you utilize the
elements on that paper.
For the following, choose two to use for marketing strategies.
5. How are you planning to use logos?
6. How are you planning to use ethos?
7. How are you planning to use pathos?
8. Type up an explanation of how you plan to use logos, ethos, and pathos.
