Product Manager – Premium Lenses – Recruitment brief
Job title: Product Manager – Premium Lenses
Responsible to: Marketing Director
Salary: Competitive salary plus benefits
Key relationships:
Internal – Marketing team; R&D team; QA/RA team; International Business Managers; UK/Germany Sales teams. External –
Customers (surgeons, distributors), KOLs and Rayner Consultants.
The purpose of this role is to increase the growth, development and promotion of our Premium IOL product portfolio by playing
an integral part in cascading marketing initiatives throughout our global markets. As Product Manager you will contribute to
the development of global marketing strategies and business plans for our Premium IOLs range, develop marketing action plans,
take responsibility for the delivery of product global launch campaigns, and identify new opportunities in IOL design and
innovation.
Alongside, you will build effective relationships with KOLs and Rayner consultants to harness their cooperation and engagement
in developing innovative products, and participate in and actively engage in organising specialist marketing programmes for
Premium IOLs at major industry conferences e.g. ASCRS, AAO, ESCRS. Initially based in our office in Hove, the role will include
international travel (around 15% of your time). During 2015/16 we will be moving to our new purpose built Global Headquarters
in Worthing.
This will be a busy and demanding role but you will be joining a dynamic and highly specialised Marketing team in a profitable

Key responsibilities:

Development of global marketing strategies and business plans for the premium IOL range

Manage brand identity across all media, material and sales channels

Develop marketing action plans and deliver global product launch campaigns

Identify new opportunities in IOL design and innovation and undertake feasibility studies

Build effective working relationships with R&D and QARA departments in order to develop the premium lens
portfolio and facilitate new product development

Project Management of premium lens development programmes and new product development

Develop and recommend tailored pricing strategies for both existing and new, premium IOL products worldwide

Involvement in Planning and Coordination of Clinical Studies and pre-market studies for new IOL products

Support Key Opinion Leaders programme initiative (through PR and Practice Management)

Work with the Marketing Director to ensure budgets are in line with the business strategy
Skills and Experience:
Essential:

Product Marketing experience

Experience launching new products and managing product life cycles

Experience working in Optometry/ophthalmology

Strong scientific background, able to comprehend and interpret scientific/clinical data
Desirable:

Science related degree or equivalent

Formal business or marketing qualifications (e.g. CIM)

Language: English, 2nd language preferred
Personal skills:

Strong business acumen – financial awareness, strategic thinking, business planning and budgeting, ability to develop
and execute key tactics

Strong interpersonal skills and relationship builder – KOLs, key partnerships, external agencies etc.

Analytical and problem resolution skills

Good organisational skills

Flexible ‘can-do’ attitude needed to thrive in a rapidly growing and changing company
