CVDA Dress Rehearsal 2015 Reminders
Date: Sun., May 31, 2015
Location: El Campanil Theatre, 602 W. 2nd, Antioch
Time: See the Dress Rehearsal Schedule (posted in your handbook, on studio recital info board,
and online on “Recital” page) for specific practice times for each class. Each class will rehearse
during a designated 45-minute or 1-hour “scene.” Please be prompt and completely dressed in
costume at the start of your practice time, as we will stay promptly on schedule.
This is a MANDATORY rehearsal. All dancers MUST attend dress rehearsal in order to be in
the recital. Exceptions will be made for emergencies and extreme illness only. If you think you
have a legitimate excuse, you MUST speak with Miss Pam prior to this rehearsal. If you have a
last-minute emergency or illness, contact us asap.
Run-throughs: We will run through each group of dances 2 or 3 times, so please stay until you
hear the announcement that we have finished each “scene.”
Dressing rooms: We will have use of the dressing rooms during dress rehearsal for those who
need to change on site.
Costumes: Dancers will practice on stage in full costume. Bring all shoes, costume pieces and
accessories: tights, head pieces, tap buttons, costume, etc. Label everything – especially shoes. Put
all these in a labeled bag. Remember, no jewelry; girls - no undies. Hair must be styled as
required. Remember: no hair extensions allowed.
Make-up: Stage makeup should be worn at Dress Rehearsal and Recital.
Pre-school/combo classes: blush, lipstick.
Grade school age: blush, lipstick, eye shadow, mascara optional for light –colored eyes.
Teens: blush, lipstick, eye shadow, mascara.
Parents/Guardians: You are responsible for your child/ren during dress rehearsal, including
costume changes. Please keep your children with you until they are called to rehearse on stage.
Please be responsible for siblings & friends, as well. We ask that everyone in the audience be
respectfully quiet during entire rehearsal.
Audience: Friends and family are welcome to observe during dress rehearsal!
Cameras and video recorders: Feel free to film your dancer during rehearsal. For the safety and
well-being of all dancers, cameras and videos are not permitted during the recital. You will have the
opportunity to purchase a professional video of the recital
Theatre Rules: These very important theatre rules pertain to both Dress Rehearsal and Recital.
Bottled water only is allowed in the theater; food and other drinks are allowed in the dressing rooms. NO
running anywhere in the theatre. NO climbing or playing on the theatre chairs, stairs, lobby etc.
This is a very old, beautifully restored theatre, and we ask for your cooperation in following
these theatre rules.
