Audience: All Employees, Managers, Physicians, Scientists, Nurses, Students, Volunteers, Patients, Community, Other Healthcare Professionals Educational Objectives: After attending this presentation, participants should be able to: Identify major CAM approaches used by cancer patients and why they use them Discuss the CAM approaches that may be harmful alone or in combination with conventional cancer treatments, those not known to be harmful and felt to be beneficial to patients Discuss CAM approaches shown by appropriate research methods to be beneficial for quality of life or other clinical outcomes when integrated with conventional cancer treatment Apply increased knowledge and confidence in discussing with and guiding patients who choose to use CAM alone or in combination with their conventional cancer treatments Identify CAM treatments to promote wellness, to manage symptoms or to treat cancer The University of Texas M.
