Educational Objectives:
After attending this presentation, participants should be able to:
Identify major CAM approaches used by cancer patients and why they use them
Discuss the CAM approaches that may be harmful alone or in combination with conventional cancer treatments, those not known to be harmful and felt to be beneficial to patients
Discuss CAM approaches shown by appropriate research methods to be beneficial for quality of life or other clinical outcomes when integrated with conventional cancer treatment
Apply increased knowledge and confidence in discussing with and guiding patients who choose to use CAM alone or in combination with their conventional cancer treatments
Identify CAM treatments to promote wellness, to manage symptoms or to treat cancer
