T
hose who gathered in February 1963
dreamed of establishing a theatre
that was by the community and for
the community. They believed that La
Crosse should have a theatre and did
what was necessary to make it happen:
giving countless hours as volunteers
and donating as needed to make the
show happen. La Crosse Community
Theatre is still around 53 years later
because of individuals like you—who
give of your time and treasure.
Because of our volunteers, our board, our
staff, and our patrons, La Crosse Community
Theatre continues to create exciting works of
art. LCT also tries to provide theatre-related
opportunities in addition to plays. With our
growing education department, LCT offers
more classes than ever before. And we
strive for our classes to be inclusive, so that
individuals who deserve the opportunity
to experience and enjoy theatre may do so,
regardless of abilities.
LCT does this because of you. You who serve
on the board, you who enthusiastically work
behind the scenes, you who commit time and
energy to performing, and you who attend
our shows and are generous with your support. I can’t thank you enough for all that you
do for La Crosse Community Theatre.
Over 53 years ago, a group of individuals
dreamed of creating theatre in La Crosse.
Here’s to 53 years from now, when
La Crosse Community Theatre will still
be serving our community.
for another year of outstanding theatre
La Crosse Community Theatre’s 2016–2017 Season
A musical comedy like NUN other!
When showgirl Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, the
police hide her in the one place they’re sure the mob won’t
find her: a convent! Using her unique disco moves and singing
talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the
parish as she discovers the power of her newly found sisterhood. Based on the hit film, Sister Act is reason to REJOICE!
By Bill and Cheri Steinkellner; Music by Alan
Menken; Lyrics by Glenn Slater; Additional

In the early hours of April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic
sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean with 1,500
souls aboard in one of the worst maritime disasters in
history. This powerhouse musical, winner of the 1997
Tony Award, chronicles the true stories of the people who
sailed on the fateful ship. It is a tribute to their hopes for
a brighter future and the grand dream that was Titanic.

For mature elves only.
The Santaland Diaries is a hysterical send-up of the
crass commercialization of Christmas. An unemployed
actor takes a job as a Macy’s elf during the holiday
crunch. At first the job is simply humiliating, but once the
thousands of visitors start pouring through Santa’s workshop, he becomes battle-weary and bitter, occasionally
taking out his frustrations on children and parents alike.
By David Sedaris, adapted by Joe Mantello
Starring LCT actor and storyteller Michael Scott

Veterans Studio Theatre
Comedy—Theatre PG

AUDITIONS: December 12–13, 2016
The Misanthrope is Moliére’s comic masterpiece
about the clash between honesty and civility!
Outraged by the duplicity of “polite” society, Alceste
declares that he will speak only the truth—no
matter who he offends. Ironically, he’s in love
the Célimène, whose wicked tongue and endless
flirtations are everything he claims to hate. When
his candor results in a lawsuit and showdown with
Célimène, Alceste must choose between love and
principle.

Our 2016 Volunteers of the Year
La Crosse Community Theatre relies on the hard work of hundreds of
volunteers each season. This year we recognize two individuals who
went above and beyond, who showed extra dedication and hard work:
Lisa K. Adams and Stacy Bruemmer.
Lisa K. Adams
Stacy Bruemmer
Lisa has volunteered in some
manner on almost every single
production over the past year.
This past winter, as the entire
Stuart Little team was sitting
down to eat in a school cafeteria,
all of us at the teachers table, Stacy
deviated. She was going to sit with
her people: the kindergarten class.
She has starred in multiple
shows, designed props, served
on several stage crews, worked
in costumes, stage managed,
and provided her directors
and colleagues with a shining
example of hard work, dedication, selflessness, and positivity.
Lisa often says that she grew up in the theatre, so not working on
almost every show would feel odd. Regardless of her reasons for
coming in to work time and time again, the audience, staff, and
volunteers all reap the benefits of her commitment.
And so we are delighted to thank her and recognize her as a
Volunteer of the Year. —Greg Parmeter
Stacy’s myriad talents are expressed
in many ways over a variety of
productions and classrooms; but
what makes her truly special—and an important LCT volunteer—is her
ability to share her time and talents so indiscriminately and openly with all LCT
audiences, even the ones who are in kindergarten. Her love of theatre shines
through in everything she does here, and it is infectious.
Quick to say “yes,” always open to new ideas, and delighting students and audiences alike, Stacy has been invaluable this past year. Her boundless energy in
the Stuart Little tour, her delightful sense of timing in Boeing Boeing, and her
skillful leadership backstage in Sideways Stories from Wayside School are
just a few of the reasons she is a Volunteer of the Year. —Sara Pillatzki-Warzeha
