As many as 61 persons fell ill due to food poisoning in Saraspur on Friday. This is the
third such case in the city in the past two weeks where more than 50 people became
victim after having food at a wedding.
Around 61 people from groom's side, residents of Behrampura, had feast in the
ceremony. Soon, some of them developed giddiness and nausea and were rush to
hospitals. Initially, five children showed symptoms of food poisoning as diarrhoea
and vomiting.
As many as 42 of them were shifted to infectious disease hospital in Behrampura
while 12 were taken to Shardaben hospital in Saraspur. Seven were shifted to LG
Hospital in Maninagar. Condition of all the patients are stated to be stable but they
are likely to be kept under observation for the next two days.
Earlier on Wednesday, around 50 persons fell ill after having feast at a wedding in
Juhapura. On February 1, 70 persons fell ill due to food poisoning at Pirana near
Narol.
