WELCOME
In the heart of spring, as bears roam among
us again in the northern hemisphere, the
Gemini issue of Major Sky emerges, green
and lush. Numerous developments on the
horizon; first, the long awaited 4th
Evolutionary Astrology Conference taking
place in the beautiful Black Hills in South
Dakota in September, is shaping up with the
list of topics announced: From “Pluto in
Capricorn,” “The Pisces/Virgo Nodal Axis,”
“Composite Charts,” “Astrology of Location,
Mapping your Evolutionary Journey,” to
“Sexual Archetypes of the Zodiac, from
natural to distorted,” and much more!
6_speakers_lectures.html) Second, Moses
Siregar III is organizing a brand new format
of Astrology conference next spring called
“The Blast” in magnificent Sedona!
Announced lecturers are Rob Hand, Adam
Gainsburg, Kristin Fontana, Ray Merriman,
Maurice Von Fernandez, and many more
(http://theblastastrologyconference.com/)
This program will include various additional
activities, such as yoga and hiking!
In this issue, Jeff Jawer, co-founder of the
Star IQ website is our honored interviewed
guest! Robert Blaschke has written a very
interesting article on the correlation
between the different zodiacs. It is very
refreshing to me to see this holistic
approach to the different zodiacs; it is all
natural that each one of the zodiacs plays a
particular role in the greater astrology
scheme of things; enough with the battles,
on with a broader perspective on things!
Kristin Fontana is another guest this month
as she presents her new Astrology-inspired
jewelry line! Check out the gorgeous designs,
crafted with care and intention!
Beyond that, the coming transits are
discussed; the one that particularly draws
attention is Mars moving into Leo and recharging the Fixed T-square/Grand Cross,
as it will conjunct Saturn in Leo, square
Jupiter and oppose Neptune! Prepare
yourself for a seemingly non-stop June and
July! For the Special Feature, Part II of the
Astrology Myth Dethroned… Can’t get
enough of that, Part III is already in the
making!
So, many blessings for the coming month;
enjoy the summer or winter moving in!
With care,
Maurice
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
A MONTH IN A LIFE
Below is an analysis of the important configurations of the coming month. A brief introspection into the
nature and intent of these influences is followed by a sign by sign forecast.
New Moon in Gemini
5° Gemini/May 27, 2006
Advertising Space
The New Moon in early Gemini is an indicator for a change of climate; having gone through a month
with more introverted energy from Taurus and Cancer, a lighter quality now emerges. Mars soon to
move into Leo is likely to add color to the air with creative initiatives. In a typical way, the Gemini
month calls for exchange, cultural exposure, travel and studies. External elements must be considered
as they intermingle with our private needs; a time for coordination and networking. Around the New
Moon, Mercury in Gemini will square Uranus in Pisces around the 14th degree. Despite being a short
lived transit, it has significance; the inherent evolutionary necessity is to alter our predictable routine
and flow. As Mercury in Gemini relies on accumulated knowledge to be confident upon proceeding
with life, the square to Uranus reflects a change of direction and a necessity to doubt the obvious. This
aspect can add pressure as a lot of stimulation has to be computed simultaneously. The Sun eventually
forming in turn a square to Uranus, will do the same with our sense of purpose in life. We may be
exposed to criticism, public pressure, or again too many details to coordinate at once and overwhelm
our nervous system. The nervous breakdown meter may vacillate erratically! Later this month, the
Sun/Pluto opposition is another piece of cake to digest! Ideological clashes, power struggles or else,
courage to change our creative expression is on the menu. The Gemini month may start jovial, but
intricacies and challenges await; no worries, evolutionary junkies will have their share of drama to tackle
with!
Mars Conjunct Saturn in Leo
8° Leo/ June 18, 2006
Live and Let Die
The transit of Mars in Leo is never left unnoticed! The fiery combination of Mars and Leo is charged
with emotions, passion and determination, bordering on the extravagant. Drama is a double edged
sword, for Mars in Leo can stimulate the greatest victories for some and a pierced heart for others. It is
a highly competitive symbol that produces winners and losers, and no matter which side you stand on,
the hormone rollercoaster will render the experience memorable. A strong desire nature, pronounced
ambition, inspired action, and undeniable creativity are all contributing to Mars in Leo’s reputation of a
“doer!” The batteries are loaded, and life is about to be conquered! Yet, at the prospect of being
deprived of accomplishment and dignity, Mars in Leo infuses terrible jealousy! A person with this
symbol can be kind and loving, but when wounded in that sacred place, their objective vision is blurred.
This dynamic can also manifest when the success of a Mars in Leo person attracts bitter jealousy from
envious others, sometimes to the point of sabotage. Generally speaking, this transit can be particularly
auspicious for career or personal development. Creativity peaks and the results generate attention and
more energy.
-2-
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
The conjunction to Saturn is of extreme importance! Mars conjunct Saturn in Leo can induce the
dethroning of leaders, or else, death/abdication of the older generation for younger blood to take the
lead! Saturn accentuates the ambitious streak, and with it, victories, violence and fundamental change in
power structures! Health-wise, this conjunction is challenging to the heart, and the rise of strokes and
heart attacks will be sharply on the increase. Consider the fact that the conjunction will occur at the 8th
degree of Leo, which happens to be the North Node of Neptune! Everyone shares that same Neptune
North Node more or less. Consequently, beyond personal experiences, this aspect is likely to trigger
events of larger consequences. On a personal level, stimulation of the Node can increase popularity,
inspiration and creativity. A person may feel there is a higher meaning or a greater good to his/her
ambition, and work from the heart, especially if spiritually inclined. Negatively speaking, it can induce
deeper victimization wounds. On a collective level, events of important consequence are likely to occur;
from leadership shake ups, radically altering decisions, to more pronounced defensiveness and offence.
The North Node of the United States and the Pluto/ascendant of George Bush also happen to be on
that critical degree.
On another note, Leo represents children. This configuration taking place there can have a strong
effect on child development and well-being; our own and collectively so. For some it may manifest in
wanting to have children, hence the increased libido. For others, a change of status regarding children;
some moving in or out, getting a degree, and so on. This symbol is also typical for custody battles or a
need to defend children’s causes. At worst, it may describe children being targeted and exposed to
violence. In different ways, parents may clash with their children’s will resulting in power struggles. An
important lesson is for parents to free their children from excessive expectations and release them to
their own lives.
A dynamic month lies ahead and with it, an opportunity to move our lives forward. A lot can be
accomplished with the powerful combination of these factors. It is a time to increase confidence, do
and create, but most importantly, work from heart-centered intentions for the personal and greater
good. You may come on too strong for some; watch your bulldozer as you pass by wildflowers!
The Nodal Axis shifting to Virgo/Pisces
June 22, 2006
Learning to Fly
A brief introduction to the shifting axis into Virgo (South Node) and Pisces (North Node) on June 22;
the transiting nodal axis is highly important in and of itself, and particularly when it forms aspects to
natal placements. From the active Aries/Libra axis, we move to the service oriented Pisces/Virgo one.
This passage will last about 18 months, and will start its journey while being squared by Pluto in
Sagittarius. In the course of August, Mars in Virgo will also conjunct the South Node, but more about
that in due time! Stay tuned for more Major Sky reports!
The evolutionary intent intrinsic to the nodal axis is to experience both extremes, starting from the
South Node, then progressing onto the North Node, to eventually unify both polarities and transcend
the existing duality. The forces of Virgo and Pisces represent the necessity to bring human effort
(Virgo) in harmony with divine will (Pisces). Virgo represents knowledge put to use and human
participation in Creation; it describes what “we can do,” “our share of work,” “the consciousness to
take good care,” and “the necessity to improve the way resources are handled.” Virgo consequently
-3-
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
points to our control abilities, to our capacity to create predictable and functioning patterns in life, and
to our capacity to fend off parasites/chaos. Much human potential and resourcefulness is captured in
the Virgo energy.
The Pisces North Node represents the unknown, what existed before us and what will be after us; that
which we did not create and thus is initially beyond our control! The term “initially” is important,
because as we live and learn, we demystify existence and gain control over aspects that were previously
beyond reach. Still, despite progress, emancipation and greater understanding, Pisces represents what
remains unpredictable or beyond understanding. With a North Node in Pisces, the individual is
confronted with his/her own impotence, with the inability to functionally predict a desirable result; the
lesson is in acceptance, release and surrendering. What else can be done when faced with larger forces?!
While we control and direct our destinies with Virgo, we are left to the hands of fate through Pisces!
Surrendering control can sound spiritually romantic, but we are fast reminded that God does not save
mortals from pain, hardship and death; not having control means that we become vulnerable as
defenses are neutralized. What divine purpose is there in that? The deeper meaning to Pisces is the
necessity to free ourselves from the hold on security in order to become exposed to new concepts that
are beyond the scope of the known. There is danger in adventures, but also a potential for the deepest
learning experiences. Pisces calls for risk taking and being willing to face incertitude, daring to walk
through the veil to meet new dangers and wonders and eventually introduce them to the known. Thus,
Pisces points to a need to humble the ego and awaken the realization that “there must be more to life
than this!” “We do not know everything!”
The axis will consequently invite a more open approach to life, more risk taking, and unpredictability.
Those who resist the challenge may experience more suffering. Still, it is not viable to just through
throw caution to the wind and just let the currents lead; drowning is almost certain then. The Virgo
quality must be put to use and help the person navigate while being in the heart of the ocean. Control
and skills, or shall we say experience, must be put to proper use for the adventure to be successful.
This axis will confront us with what we can and cannot do, finding the fine line between fighting and
letting go. When these extremes are well balanced, one can harmonize with existence and make the best
of it!

Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
FORECASTINATION
BY SIGN
The forecasts are done
according to Sun Signs and
solar houses (Sun on the
Ascendant). Although this
perspective
is
obviously
generalized, it has value and
works. You can apply the
forecasts to your Ascendant
sign as well.
ARIES
Venus moving into your 2nd
House opposing Jupiter is
auspicious for money making.
This means that you will
finally be able to afford
Maurice’s Astrology course!
Beyond that, sensuality and
sexuality may also be on the
rise, from the sacred art of
knowing thyself, to actual
fluid exchange, Venus takes
care of it all! A lot of 3rd house
activity for you this month
with a New Moon and a
Sun/Pluto opposition there
later on: travel, studies,
meaningful social time, but
this may converge into
intellectual clashes and power
struggles
(maybe
with
siblings) by mid June – watch
out for the ego getting out of
hand!
The
Saturn/Mars
conjunction in your 5th House
will be great for promoting
your ambitions and pushing
your life forward; be careful
not to run over your kidz as
you steamroll your way to the
top!
TAURUS
Venus moving into your sign
will ground you and enrich
your presence with grace.
Good time to pursue your
creative outlets! Mars trotting
through your 4th House and
(for some) squaring your Sun
will make you extremely
focused
and
hard
to
approach. It’s your time to
embody the whimsical artist
for a while, and make your
wish a command! Domestic
upsets
may
occur;
confrontations
with
or
between parents is one of the
possibilities. All in all, this
time has much to do with
working from within and
concentrating on personal
needs.
GEMINI
The New Moon in your sign
will revitalize your life. This
applies primarily to those
born in the first half of the
sign. You are likely to gain
more presence and find
productive creative outlets.
Major Sky encourages you to
“just do it!” Pluto defies the
second half of Geminis –
Take Paul McCartney for
example! Serious redefinitions
and life altering decisions are
being made. The Mars/Saturn
conjunction squaring Jupiter
may very well impact on work
dynamic by mid to end June.
You want more, go and ask
for it; it will be your time to
fight for your rights!
CANCER
Are you pressured to
simultaneously manage ten
-5-
different powder kegs in your
life right now? The New
Moon in your 12th House
requires adaptation and flow.
External
demands
and
professional expectations will
require the best of your
performance, and the efforts
may be well worth it as you
may gain public praise. Mars
moving into your 2nd House
and squaring a 5th House
Jupiter will intensify focus and
determination;
you
are
promoting your goals and
coming on strong! Clashes
with or over children may
erupt and you will hold your
ground!
LEO
Well, Leos, this ain’t no
routine month for you. Mars
departing your 12th House and
entering your 1st House will
surely change your mood.
One the one hand, you will
notice an increase in adrenal
rushes and libido; more
motivation to take charge of
your life and reorient your
efforts after having been
emotionally depleted! More
power to you if you want to
grow and blossom in all
magnificence! One the other
hand, watch out for angery
outbursts or coming on too
strong, this may backfire and
burn golden bridges! Children
may also raise challenging
issues for you; confrontation
with them or about them is
likely. Remember to work
from the heart! A New Moon
in your 11th House will
increase your popularity and
add more reason to your
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
impulsiveness; a good source
for balancing emotionality.
VIRGO
A New Moon in your 10th
house with Mars moving into
your 12th House will require
more public time and sacrifice
of leisure, but then what else
is new with Virgo? The
potential to be validated and
promote your purposes is
considerable though; you will
feel the air you consume is
justified after all! Take better
care of your health though;
stress and rich food can clog
those arteries or overstimulate your adrenals! You
don’t want to die of a heart
attack on your rise to the top!
LIBRA
A Gemini New Moon in your
9th House will surely make this
month intellectually stimulating!
Travel,
cultural
exchange, classes, or else,
visitors from a distant land
may show up at your doorstep. Back that up with Mars
moving into your 11th House,
and you have the best party in
town! This is a month for
exchange and development;
you want to move your life
forward, keep pushing! A
friend may prove to be losing
his/her sincerity in your eyes;
envy, or perhaps bossiness
may persuade you to call it
quits and take your distance.
SCORPIO
Mars moving onto your 10th
House and squaring all early
Scorpios
will
highlight
ambition and drama for this
month. Motivation is peaking
and goals are within reach;
watch out for competitors
and envious parasites trying to
sabotage your effervescence!
On your end, don’t be so
arrogant, this may help with
less provocation. A New
Moon in your 8th House will
give you courage and insight
to create the necessary
changes to pave your way.
You will receive help in this
regard. Venus moving into
your 7th House highlights juicy
romance and partnership;
time to find that rich partner
who will festoon you with
jewelry... and don’t pretend
like it’s not important to you!
SAGITTARIUS
New relationship dynamics on
your horizon; you may meet
exotic foreigners or else,
revitalize
your
current
relationships. Improvement
may also take place in the
work area for the late sag
natives. On another front, it
seems you will play fanatic
religious zealot for a little
while; Mars/Saturn in your 9th
House seems to inject a good
dosage of self-righteousness
into your bloodstream; please
reflect upon that and spare us
infidels from your sword of
justice! On a positive note, it’s
a good time for selfexpansion
and
personal
development; invest, and reap
rewards!
CAPRICORN
The New Moon takes place in
your 6th House; lucky you,
you’re going to have a lot of
-6-
work
and
have
the
opportunity to employ your
coordination skills! You are
gradually moving beyond the
upsetting period that stirred
your relationship life last
month. A stronger focus will
be on regrouping and
promoting your needs and
rights. With Mars transiting
your 8th House with Saturn,
sex with the boss may be a
good strategy to accomplish
that and guarantee the raise!
Yes, it will upset your coworkers and friends, but as
usual, tell them it’s none of
their business (or is it?)
AQUARIUS
A 5 House New Moon with
Venus entering your 4th
House is all you were asking
for! Buy more luxury to
compensate for emotional
anxieties, or else, really find
that inner sense of purpose;
this period of time is more
grounding for you; don’t
over-analyze, just create. Your
talents will shine - you have to
trust the process. On the
other hand, life is going to be
difficult on the relationship
front. Power struggles may
lead to messy cream pie
battles; try to find a balance,
consider counseling, or simply
take time off and write your
novel instead of interacting
with anyone.
th
PISCES
A New Moon in your 4th
House may stimulate a well
deserved time with private
emotions. Reflect upon your
needs, analyze them, take care
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
of yourself, buy yourself a
new shirt (and throw away the
torn ones please!) Mars in Leo
conjunct Saturn in your 6th
House is auspicious for
creative time and getting the
work done. Bosses may
pressure you, but then, a raise
may also follow, if you dare
ask! Watch your health; you’re
subject to heart infatuations!
Another reminder to better
take care of yourself and
manage your energy appro-
priately; too many highs and
crashes!

ARTICLE by Robert P. Blaschke
The Secrets of the Zodiac
1. The Living Zodiac
Prior to the relatively recent emergence of psychologically oriented
astrology during the 1970s, which has resulted in planetary archetypes
assuming the dominant voice in this celestial language, the Zodiac
was always historically known to be the true living spiritual force and
power in this divine science. What exactly happened in the last 35
years, and has it been a positive development?
The baby boom generation, comprised mainly of souls born into the
collective influence of Pluto in the sign of Leo (late 1930s until mid
1950s), has evolved a highly egocentric and individualized approach to astrology, dwelling primarily on
self-development, self-understanding, and the use of the astrological language to articulate and clarify
one's interior world and one's innermost self. This predilection, of course, has resulted in vast spiritual
benefit to many in this generation who have pursued personal growth as their primary life goal. But,
has there also been a downside?
As with all well intentioned activity, a shadow side eventually emerges that erodes the effectiveness of
the original approach. This appears to have happened with modern astrology. Forgetting that the Spirit
and Soul of astrological science lies within the splendid powers of the Sun and the Zodiac, a modern
day astrologer is more likely to attribute the working forces of astrology to the planets. As an
astronomical fact, and also as a spiritual metaphor, planets are helpless without the gravitational pull of
the Sun, the central star of our solar system. And the planetary rays must pass through the Living
Waters of the Zodiac in order to reach humanity and to affect its earthly experiences.
- 10 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
It is this writer's thesis that this historical development in astrology has resulted in the formation of
somewhat of an illusion, a deviation from truth supporting an unconscious need for personal control in
a world that is becoming more technologically complex, violent and frightening all of the time.
Whereas, a century ago our astrological forebears marvelled at the Soul of the Zodiac, and saw the
Hand of God revealed through astrology, today, at the dawn of the 21st century, modern astrologers
and consumers of astrology sadly have lost sight of the real spiritual forces within this ancient science,
and have cast their pearls before the supposed sovereignty of the planetary gods. What is this Living
Zodiac, and how can one reconnect with its truth and beauty?
2. Competing Zodiacs
The Zodiac is a celestial belt of energy surrounding our Earth and extending about eight degrees on
either side of the Ecliptic, which is the apparent path of Sun. The Twelve Signs were originally
perceived by early mankind as patterns of grouped stars, or constellations, through which the Sun (by
day) and planets (by night) move, and were associated by early astrologers with mythological and
archetypal figures. The Zodiac signs have been divided into these three groupings:
INDIVIDUAL SIGNS
RELATIONAL SIGNS
UNIVERSAL SIGNS
ARIES the RAM
LEO the LION
SAGITTARIUS the ARCHER/CENTAUR
TAURUS the BULL
VIRGO the VIRGIN
CAPRICORN the MOUNTAIN GOAT
GEMINI the TWINS
LIBRA the SCALES
AQUARIUS the WATER BEARER
CANCER the CRAB
SCORPIO the SCORPION
PISCES the FISHES
In the years after World War II, a movement began in astrology to use a different Zodiac other than
the one calculated at the Vernal Equinox (the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere - and
resulting in the commonly used Tropical Zodiac). This fledgling group of British astrologers began to
employ the Sidereal Zodiac, a calculation of the twelve signs based on the fixed constellations. This
Zodiac has been used for centuries in India by Vedic, or Hindu, astrologers, and starting in the early
1990s a now sizable contingent of American, British and European astrologers have begun to study and
practice Vedic Astrology, using the Sidereal Zodiac based on the constellations.
The usage of these two Zodiacs, Tropical and Sidereal, has resulted in public confusion about the
validity of astrology, with the man on the street questioning how a system with two seemingly
contradictory methods of calculation could be accurate and meaningful. This point of confusion has,
alas, even been further worsened by professional astrologers themselves. Dividing into two camps over
the last fifteen years, the users of the Tropical and the Sidereal Zodiacs often employ a black or white
rationale for their preference of one Zodiac over the other.
Is it possible that each Zodiac has relevance and symbolizes a different plane of consciousness? Yes,
and let us now review the astronomical dimensions of the different Zodiacs. Besides the Tropical and
Sidereal, two additional Zodiacs exist in astrology - Heliocentric and Draconic - and all four of these
will be shown to be part of a unified field theory linking different levels of reality. The reader should
remember that, when using the Tropical or Sidereal Zodiacs, the positions of the Sun, Moon and
planets are calculated geocentrically, or as measured from Earth.
- 11 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
The Tropical Zodiac commences from the Vernal Equinox, which is where the Ecliptic intersects the
Equator and thus is a point in time. The Sidereal Zodiac is measured from the star Spica (Virgo 30), or
from Aldebaran and Antares (Taurus 15-Scorpio 15), which are points in space. Because of the
gravitational effect of the Sun and Moon on the Earth's polar axis, a slow, swinging motion of the
Earth's axis of rotation occurs. This has the ultimate effect of moving the point at which the Vernal
Equinox occurs by one degree each 72 years.
With Zodiac signs being comprised of thirty degrees each, an Astrological Age thus lasts for 2,160 years
(72 x 30). A Great Cycle through all twelve signs lasts for 25,900 years. Presently, mankind is in the Age
of Pisces which began with the birth of Jesus Christ. The Age of Aquarius will not be commencing
until the middle of the 22nd century. It is also of note that at the birth of Christ, the Sidereal and
Tropical Zodiacs were aligned for the only time in the Great Cycle of almost 26,000 years. When Jesus
said, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End" (Revelation
22:13), He was referring to the simple fact that only He was the One who incarnated at the beginning
and the end of the Great Precessional Cycle of 26,000 years. Not Krishna, nor the Buddha, nor
Mohammed can make this significant spiritual claim. At the present time, there is about a twenty four
degree difference between the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs.
The Heliocentric Zodiac is a Sun-centered model measuring the orbits of the planets from the heart of
our solar system. The position of the Earth in these charts is 180˚ opposite the position of the Sun in a
Tropical nativity. As there are no retrograde planets in a Heliocentric chart, its life force only goes
forward into the future. Since there is no Moon in these charts, no memories from the past can affect
the present. Because of their relative distance from the Sun, the superior planets of Jupiter, Saturn,
Uranus, Neptune or Pluto are just a few degrees off from their counterparts in a Tropical nativity.
However, the personal planets of Mercury, Venus and Mars can be found in different signs than in the
Tropical chart; and in the case of the inferior planets, Mercury and Venus, these two can be opposite
their Tropical positions, if geocentrically retrograde at birth.
The Draconic Zodiac transfers the North Node of the Moon (the point in the lunar orbit where it
intersects the plane of the Ecliptic) to 00˚ 00' Aries. A chart cast with this zodiac then computes the
differential arc between this Aries point and one's Tropical North Node, and adds this arc to the
Luminaries, planets and angles in any nativity. The result is a chart that retains the identical gestalt, or
pattern, of the Tropical horoscope, yet now has different Zodiac degrees for everything. The Draconic
Zodiac is thus lunar based, whereas the Heliocentric Zodiac is a solar based calculation.
What now emerges when the spiritual astrologer contemplates the intertwining reality of these four
Zodiacs is that one is time based (Tropical), one is space based (Sidereal), one is lunar based
(Draconic), and one is solar based (Heliocentric). Do all four Zodiacs represent different planes of
reality? Can the astrologer now produce a unified field theory to explain their interrelationships?
3. The Four Zodiacs and Different Planes of Reality
In his fourth book, Astrology: A Language of Life, Volume IV - Relationship Analysis, this author outlined
these four Zodiacs and linked them with the karma of the space-time continuum as they pertain to
human relationships. His research found that when comparing the nativities of family members, there
were exact conjunctions between the Tropical Zodiac planets in one chart with the Draconic Zodiac
positions in the second chart. The premise here is that an ongoing soul contract exists between parents,
children and siblings who reincarnate into the same family system from lifetime to lifetime. This Zodiac
- 12 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
is lunar based, thus relating to the karma of ancestral blood lines.
He also found in his research that when two souls end earthly relationships through either divorce or a
parting of the ways, significant links were found between the Tropical Zodiac angles in one horoscope
and the Sidereal Zodiac position of the planets in the second nativity. Because karma can only manifest
on the Cross of Matter where time and space intersect, and these two Zodiacs are either time based
(Tropical) or space based (Sidereal), the premise here is that a completion of karma between two souls
can be seen through the comparison of the charts of these two Zodiacs.
The Heliocentric Zodiac is infrequently used by astrologers. This Sun-centered model generates a
horoscope that symbolizes one's Christ Consciousness, or one's Higher Self. This chart, without a Sun
position, operates at a level of reality where there is no individual ego, but only one's Higher Self
serving a larger purpose, such as Love, Truth or Beauty. This writer recommends viewing the
Heliocentric nativity as representing all that is virtuous within the individual, as if he were operating
from pure Spirit. These horoscopes are calculated using Natural Houses, where 00˚ Aries is rising, and
as such, house positions of the planets are transcendental in nature, as they are not bound by an earthly
Ascendant or Midheaven. The position of the Earth in these charts is 180˚ opposite the position of the
Sun in a Tropical nativity, as if it were a reflection of Spirit.
The following table illustrates this multi-dimensional Zodiac model:

ONGOING SOUL CONTRACT
In this table showing a four-level model for the different planes of reality, the sequence goes from a
lunar-based Zodiac to a time-derived one, then to a space-based level, and finally to one that is solarderived. It is this author's thesis that multi-dimensional relationship analysis, involving the Draconic,
Tropical, Sidereal and Heliocentric Zodiacs, is not only accurate for determining past life soul contracts
between family members, but also for ascertaining any completing relational karma between two souls.
At the highest level of human attainment is one's Christ Consciousness, seen most clearly through the
Heliocentric Zodiac nativity. What would be a practical approach for the astrologer to take when
working with the four different Zodiacs?
4. Working with the Different Zodiacs and Degree Symbols
When employing the Draconic Zodiac, the astrologer can understand the individual's experience at a
family or hereditary level. An astrologer using the Tropical Zodiac is ideally suited to delineate the
individual's experience at a personality level, and to be able to perceive the life purpose of the present
incarnation. When using the Sidereal Zodiac, the astrologer can clearly see the individual's experience at
a soul level, and can also understand the completion of karma occurring during the present incarnation.
When utilizing the Heliocentric Zodiac, the astrologer can identify the Christ Consciousness operating
within the individual, as well as identifying particular strengths of virtue that any soul possesses.
- 13 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
This practical application of a multi-dimensional model of the four Zodiacs comes even more alive
when comparing the horoscopes of two souls during relationship analysis. In this way, astrologers can
see the interaction of forces operating between different planes of reality and consciousness, and help
clients to understand the specific purpose of their important human relationships.
Because the Draconic, Tropical or Sidereal Zodiac calculations only change the signs and degrees of the
Sun, Moon and planets in any given chart, while the horoscopic gestalt, or pattern, remains identical,
how can the astrologer describe to the client the differences between his or her various nativities? In
some cases, for example, this could be accomplished by the astrologer explaining to a client how her
Tropical Venus in Scorpio would produce painful losses in relationship that are evolving her
personality and character; while at the same time her Sidereal Venus in Libra shows that on a soul level,
she has a deep, innate understanding of how her karma is being balanced by going through these
relational endings during the current lifetime.
Another technique that astrologers can use to describe and define the distinct birthcharts calculated
from the four different Zodiacs is by using a method known as degree symbol analysis. In astrology,
the meaning of each of the 360 degrees of the Zodiac has been clairvoyantly channeled, and these
metaphysical pictures, or symbols, have been recorded in book form for the benefit of professional
astrologers. The most commonly used sets of the 360 degree symbols are:
a. The Sabian Symbols - brought through by the clairvoyant, Elsie Wheeler, in
collaboration with the renowned American astrologer, Marc Edmund Jones, in 1925 in
Balboa Park in San Diego.
b. Charubel's Degrees of the Zodiac Symbolised, clairvoyantly obtained by the Welsh mystic
and astrologer, John Thomas, in the 1880s and popularized by Alan Leo in London in
the 1890s and the early 1900s.
c. Sepharial's translation of La Volasfera, a set of symbols dating back to the Italian
Renaissance and clairvoyantly channeled by Antonio Borelli in the 16th century.
To illustrate the different systems of degree symbols, along with the four different charts produced by
the Tropical, Sidereal, Draconic and Heliocentric Zodiacs, let us examine the nativity of one of the
world's most beloved and revered spiritual leaders, the 14th Dalai-Lama. Born Saturday, 6 July 1935
at 4:44 AM in Takster, Tibet (36N32; 101E12), this great soul arrived on Earth with a highly spiritual
Grand Water Trine and Kite formation in his birthchart.
His Tropical Sun in Cancer trines retrograde Jupiter in Scorpio and also trines retrograde Saturn in
Pisces. The Moon and Neptune oppose Saturn and sextile the Sun and Jupiter, thus forming the
beautiful Kite pattern.
- 14 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
The astrologer knows that a Jupiter-Saturn trine in water signs can only form a few times each century,
and when both planets are retrograde at birth the soul brings in much spiritual wisdom from past lives.
To have both the Sun and Moon and mystical Neptune configured with this special trine would
produce a highly advanced soul. Would the degree symbols also confirm this?
The most significant degree in any nativity is the rising degree, as it changes about every four
minutes of clock time. For the Dalai-Lama, the 12th degree of Cancer is rising. Remarkably, the
1925 Sabian Symbol for this degree is: A slant-eyed Chinese woman is nursing a baby, and about
the child is the glorious nimbus of divine incarnation.
- 15 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
In the Sidereal Zodiac nativity for the Dalai-Lama, the reader will notice that the planetary pattern
remains the same, but that each heavenly body is now about 24 degrees earlier in the Zodiac. This
differential is called by Hindu astrologers the Ayanamsa, and computed from a baseline differential
of 24˚ 44' 12" for the Sidereal Vernal Point as of 1 January 2000. It must also be said that there are
several competing Ayanamsas; the one used in this article is the Fagan/Bradley calculation.
It is thought that the Bay Area has one of the largest aggregations of Tibetan Buddhist practitioners
in the West. When the astrologer examines the Sabian Symbol for the rising degree in the Sidereal
Zodiac chart for the Dalai-Lama, he finds that the 18th degree of Gemini is: Standing apart from
the passing stream of well-dressed shoppers, two Chinamen in San Francisco are talking Chinese.
- 16 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
Here is the Draconic Zodiac horoscope for the Dalai-Lama:
In this chart, the reader sees that the North Node of the Moon has been transferred to 0˚ Aries. The
degree difference between the Dalai-Lama's Tropical Zodiac North Node (22˚ Capricorn 00') and
this Aries point is 68 degrees. This difference arc has then been added to the Sun, Moon, planets
and angles to compute the Draconic horoscope. Since this Zodiac relates to one's ancestral lineage
and hereditary influence, akin to a DNA transfer taking place between biological parent and child,
one would therefore expect to find relevant symbolism in the rising degree for this chart, the 20th
degree of Virgo, that would describe attributes that he received through his family blood lines.
From Charubel, for Virgo 20, we find: A lion whose head is the only part exposed. The meaning of
this degree, which speaks to his relationship with the Chinese government, is described as:
"Denotes one who is ever on the defensive, and being on the alert, is always prepared for
any attack. One void of fear, ever living in the consciousness of his superior strength. Thus,
instead of shunning an opponent, he prefers to wait, or rather to provoke the onslaught. He
- 17 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
may not be the first in the arena but he will be the last to quit it."
And from Sepharial's translation of La Volasfera, for the 20th degree of Virgo, we find evidence of
the Dalai-Lama's exile in India and his sad fate to have had to leave his motherland: Two men
fencing with swords. A man in black stands aside watching them.
"The native is born with a predisposition to disputes and quarrels and he will be involved in
some fracas in a foreign country or with a foreigner. He will be further liable to hurts from
secret enemies, and his life will be overshadowed by a melancholy fate."
This final horoscope is the Heliocentric Zodiac nativity for the Dalai-Lama. The reader will
observe that there is no Sun or Moon in this birthchart, nor are any planets retrograde. One also
observes a cross placed within a circle; this symbol is the degree for the Earth, as calculated from
the Sun. For this 13th degree of Capricorn, which represents the Christ Consciousness of the DalaiLama, one finds the Sabian Symbol refers to a Yogi meditating in the Himalayas: Back against the
mountains towards the East, which fringe the roof of the world, a fire-worshiper is meditating.
- 18 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
And from Sepharial's translation of La Volasfera for this 13th degree of Capricorn, we find further
evidence of the Dalai-Lama's Christ Consciousness: A tripod with flames of fire issuing from a
brazier (a metal container that holds burning coals or charcoal).
"This is the index of a nature that is aspiring and active, disposed to lead a life of adventure
and hazard, but honourable in the pursuit of lofty ambitions. He may become attached to the
military service, or in some other form will be a representative of the fiery and devouring
element. He has a restless and aspiring nature, such as will impel to action upon a wide
scale. He will travel and explore, lighting up dark places and devastating ancient sites in the
quest of new food for the mind. Chastity and purity of life will mark him as of singular
temperament, and his efforts will thereby become concentrated and highly successful. Alive
to all the higher ambitions of this world, he will nevertheless be zealous in the conquest of
worlds that are beyond normal ken. He may be an ambassador, consul, spiritual researcher,
or explorer. It is a degree of ASPIRATION."
5. Conclusion
It is hoped that this article has inspired the reader to contemplate the secrets of the Zodiac, and to
view this Sacred Belt of Living Water that surrounds our planet as the Source of Truth within the
divine science of astrology. It is additionally the wish of this writer that readers will want to further
investigate the multi-dimensional complexity of their own nativities. Humanity is rapidly evolving
toward a comprehension of the holographic universe that surrounds our Earth, and the theoretical
refinement of the interrelationships between the four Zodiacs, and the planes of consciousness that
each symbolizes, will continue to evolve in astrological writings during the decades ahead.

NEW PRODUCT by Kristin Fontana
Astrology Jewelry line
Kristin Fontana is launching her new line of jewelry with astrology symbols as a design
theme. The products are going to be available from mid June through her website.
Here is a taste of the products and a brief encounter with Kristin!
Kristin, this is a really beautiful design and great idea, what inspired you to come up with the
idea?
Maybe it was all of my lifetimes living in tribes but I love handmade, earthy jewelry designed with a
specific purpose in mind. I really wanted to create something that had an organic, and natural
feel, and hoped to make the line somewhat unisex. Evolutionary Astrology reflects a study of
astrology that encourages souls to reconnect to their nature. I felt pieces such as these could
help remind people of their roots.
Did you personally take part in the design?
I partnered with a very successful intention based
jewelry company called Energy Muse. All of their
pieces have an intention behind them and it seemed
like a natural fit for the line. It was a true partnership
in that the designer Heather Askinosie has
knowledge shared by healers from across the globe
of the crystals and gems and I had the Astrology
background so we literally designed each piece
together. The line morphed several times until I felt it
reflected the feel and the look of each archetype.
- 20 -
Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
You may be drawn to multiple pieces for good reason. Our birth charts reflect various layers
of self and therefore we are not just our Sun sign. For example if someone has Pluto in the third
house, they will most likely also really be drawn to Gemini. If your Sun is in Leo and you have a
Moon in Aquarius you may love both of those pieces. Some people wear different lengths in
different signs so they can wear them together. Also, I personally love the Lotus necklace and
wear the bracelet of my sun sign, or sometimes I will wear my rising sign. It depends on my mood
for the day and what energy I feel I need.
What makes this line unique is that we not only designed the line to help you access your innate
strengths but we also included a few stones to encourage your soul’s evolution.
Will the line only be available online or also in retail
shops?
The line will be carried in stores across the US as
well as in some countries. But for now, it is going to
be easier to order them through my website.
Can you list all the items available at this point?
We have 13 pieces in the line, the twelve signs of the
zodiac and a universal glyph which we have named
the Lotus. The necklaces come in three lengths, 16
1/2, 19 and 21 1/2 inch. We also have a line of
bracelets which are a simple cord and the ID tag, no
stones. Each pendant has the word 'evolve' engraved
on the back.
Each piece also comes with a scroll that shares about your sign and the stones that were
chosen for you and why.
This was a creative way to help people tap into the power of their own energy with a little
help from the stones and the stars. We hope you feel the time and love that went into each
piece.

Dethroning Astrology Myths – Part II
We will continue to discuss this month the different concepts and astrological associations that
are too often taken for granted in the astrology world despite being incomplete or even at times,
utterly inaccurate when tested in actual reality.
The reasons why these myths have survived for so long are usually because they make sense;
yet, as we have contemplated last month, something that makes sense is not necessarily
something that is actually true! Reality works in strange and unpredictable ways, and for that
reason our ultimate reference must be actual reality and not theory.
The myths I will reflect upon in this issue are
- Sagittarius is international, Gemini is local
- The Eastern Hemisphere in a chart represents control and taking charge of destiny
- Trines represent an easy flow and no tension between planets
The Myth: Sagittarius is international; Gemini is local
The Reality: Gemini is international and multicultural
The confusion arises from the fact that Gemini rules “the environment.” This is true; Gemini
represents the need to understand the dynamics of the place one lives in order to adapt and
navigate successfully through the external rhythm. But Gemini expands way beyond that. The
term “environment” is relative; it can be the neighborhood, the city, the region, the whole country,
the whole continent, or the whole world. Why is the environment so important? Gemini learns
that the geographic location (the environment) offers many clues to how we must lead our lives;
it conditions the human being to particular life experiences and resulting understanding of
existence. For example, someone living in the North Pole will have a different life experience
compared to someone living in the African desert; consequently, they may have a different
understanding of life phenomena based on their angle of observation. However, the real Gemini
need is to logically figure out the total complexity of life; therefore, it will never limit itself to only
one environment, but rather explore a variety of environments in order to gain multiple
perspectives about ways to lead life. Thus, Geminis will enquire about other cultures, languages,
and customs in order to synthesize the differences and add pieces to the large puzzle of life.
Geminis are international; they travel a lot physically or through intellectual research, and are
actually much more adaptable to foreign cultures than Sagittarians are. Air is naturally receptive,
Fire naturally expressive; Sagittarians expand their vision and market internationally; they intend
for foreigners to adapt to them, while Geminis are the ones who adapt to foreign cultures. You
will seldom see a Gemini who has not traveled internationally or who has not had meaningful
cross-cultural experiences! That’s what they are about: bridging between environments!

Major Sky – Issue 5 – Gemini New Moon 2006
The Myth: The Eastern Hemisphere in a chart represents being in control and
directing one’s own destiny
The Reality: The Eastern Hemisphere represents surrendering to larger forces
and managing existence under existential challenges
The Eastern Hemisphere starts from the 10th House down to the 3rd House (or the respective
signs, from Capricorn to Gemini). The confusion about the general nature of this hemisphere
starts from the fact that the focal point (the angle that crosses that Hemisphere) is the
Ascendant (or the sign of Aries). Aries is considered to be independent, self-oriented, and in
control or in charge of destiny, whereas the opposite sign/angle of Libra or the Descendant is
considered to be dependent, people oriented and therefore passive. There is truth to that, but
the picture is incomplete; hence the misguiding interpretation!
In the Eastern Hemisphere, the ego is not really in charge of its own destiny, it is actually
adapting to larger circumstances. The adaptation is required either because of survival or
evolutionary necessity. We can divide the Eastern Hemisphere in two Quadrants: the Upper
Quadrant (from 10th House to 12th House) and the Lower Quadrant (from 1st to 3rd House). In the
Upper Quadrant, the individual must adapt to collective currents; the ego must merge with
society’s rule, conditioning, and influences. Through that quadrant, one also recognizes the
spiritual dimension to existence, the larger unifying meaning. In one way or another, the person is
subject to larger forces and learns to align accordingly. Through the Lower Quadrant, it is true
that the ego separates from the collective; however, the ego is not really fully formed and in
control of what is going on. Through the Lower Eastern Quadrant, the ego is pressured to survive
under existential challenges! This is far from actually controlling destiny; the person is reacting to
dangers/challenges/contradictions in order to build an inner base and strength. The important
key words are: REACTING/DEFENDING rather than CREATING/CONTROLLING.
The reality is that people with an emphasis of planets in the Eastern Hemisphere have lives that
are relatively more unpredictable and subject to sudden deviation. They will be independent, but
that independence is more from a relationship point of view rather than from an existential point
of view. Eastern Hemisphere types have less time and thought for relationships in general; they
are busy adapting to society, spiritual forces and/or their own survival demands. But in no way
can we say that they direct their destiny; they are usually compelled to live more on a day to day
basis.
Western Hemisphere individuals have a more grounded ego, better defined principles, they know
what they want and will strive to compromise less. They will want to have an impact on life rather
than be swept away by currents. They are much more in control of their destiny through
creativity and egocentric expansion. They are more choice-oriented, whether it is about choosing
the way they will decorate their house, their sense of purpose, or the people they will interact
with. They know what they want out of life better and will strive to get there through their own
effort.

The Myth: Trines represent an easy flow and no tension between two planets
The Reality: There is a lot of tension and charge in a trine between two planets
The world and our astrology studies would be so much easier (and more boring) if we could easily
divide things into “good” and “bad”. Squares and oppositions would be the bad or disharmonious,
representing difficulty and negativity, whereas trines would describe an easy flow and
harmonious cooperation. Some take this to a more sophisticated level and say that because of
the inherent difficulty in a square/opposition, it builds character and therefore there is necessity
in that, whereas the ease in trines makes people lazy.
The first thing we must understand is that any aspect creates tension without exception! The
very fact that two inherently different planet have to cooperate is already a challenge. Every
aspect starts with conflict and the evolutionary purpose is to find a balance between the different
force to eventually realize “both sides are right,” and the purpose is to harmonize between them,
regardless of the nature of the aspect at this point.
Now let us briefly examine the nature of the different aspects. Angular aspects (O, 90, 180) are
aspects that represent a shift within a cycle of development. When you have a conjunction, a
square or an opposition, it means your soul is striving to establish new concepts and redefine the
old. There is inevitable friction in that. This friction is a necessary resistance from the old
“testing” of the relevance of the new. For example a person with a Mars/Venus square is a
person that attempts to radically alter the way his/her soul has approached relationship
dynamics in the past. Because of the need for change, this person will naturally be more
confrontational and will break away from anything perceived as dysfunctional or “wrong.” There is
difficulty in that challenge, and ruptures are to be expected in that example, but there’s nothing
intrinsically negative or disharmonious!
Trines represent a continuation of process; following the initial change created through the
square, the trine is now about trying to integrate the energies to make them work. The key point
is that it is not a given that the energy will already be integrated! If a person has a Mars Venus
trine, it doesn’t mean that they will get along with everyone and that their relationships will last
forever! What it means is that the person is striving to work through a new balance between the
self (Mars) and the partner (Venus); this will require work and sweat; it is not already resolved!
The confusion about the “ease” regarding trines is that the aspect usually occurs between two
signs of the same element. For example Venus in Pisces trining Mars in Cancer are both in the
Water element. Astrologers tend to forget that Pisces and Cancer have radically different needs
and there is not as much in common upon a careful look. Sure, they are both sensitive but Pisces
is naturally impersonal, whereas Cancer is completely personal. A Venus in Pisces person loves
“everyone,” they get along with strangers (aren’t we all brothers and sisters?) and often have
commitment phobias. Mars in Cancer needs a one on one exchange; they become very attached
and private and couldn’t care less about strangers! This trine is far from easy flowing!

NEW SERVICE with Maurice Fernandez
Coaching with Astrology of the Evolution of Consciousness
A typical astrology counselling session lasts 60 to 90 minutes. Core evolutionary dynamics are
discussed in the course of the reading, allowing the client to gain a vaster perspective on his/her
life. It provides a platform to identify patterns of behavior and understand the root of those
patterns whether from past or early life. The purpose is to help one align with the deeper
intention of the soul, and in this context, expose where one may have deviated or stagnated.
Suggestions are made to help one faster attain a deeper sense of self-realization a better
harmonize with existence, for this is the condition for a greater sense of fulfillment and
happiness. For some, a session can have a life changing impact, for others, it validates the
choices made and encourages the continuance of the path. It also occurs that a client resists
the content of the reading for one reason or another. In any case, the insights are offered as
suggestions, not as imposed facts; it is a “take it or leave it” format!
Many clients however, fall in between these different scenarios. They benefit greatly from the
reading, but need much more time to process, assimilate and implement the insights. This is
natural, for the emotional process is slower than the mental one. More exposure is often
necessary for a change to be more deeply implemented; this is where the coaching format can
play a greater and more meaningful role for a person oriented towards attaining a greater sense
of well-being, soul development and self-realization.
The coaching format consists of conducting a series of counseling sessions; those can be
spaced by a week or a month, depending on need. The aimed result is to allow a yet deeper
introspection and a more graceful way of assimilating the dynamics. In a single session, the
person is often shocked by the intensity of the content! This is a positive experience because the
shock promotes change. However, one may feel that more guidance is required after that. Many
clients lose touch with the astrology counselor, not feeling comfortable to rediscuss certain
points. Despite having the option to email questions or listen again to the recorded session, there
is often a sense of abrupt interruption after a single session.
Coaching sessions will consequently be available for now on and be conducted over the phone.
Beyond psychological and spiritual alignment, issues that can be addressed are relationship
dynamics, parent/child interactions, or vocational guidance.
Direction will also be offered in regards to finding appropriate dates when starting new
ventures, going to a job interview, or else. Timing is a very important factor in astrology!
Each session will last from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on need.
The cost is $450 for 4 sessions and $800 for 8 sessions. (Payment plans available)
This is an additional leap in one’s greater sense of fulfillment in life! Astrology is a powerful tool to help one harmonize ego with greater life consciousness! For scheduling or further information, contact Maurice: [email protected]

The Trans-Personal
Art Gallery
Uranus: Yes, that’s exactly right! It inspires the era we live in;
a technological extravaganza overwhelming the motherless
beings we all are. A minuscule yellow dot almost off centered,
surrounded by the vastness of an unpainted canvas describes
that craving for affection, that apocalyptic drama, the misery
of a lonely heart pounding. Excuse me for a minute; humidity
is accumulating in the anterior chamber of my eye, and overclouding my pupils.
Neptune: The rainbow symbolizes hope, the white horse in the pink backdrop is our valiant spirit
prevailing… And yes, I couldn’t help myself but add many little hearts around the painting. That’s to
show that love is really the answer! You know we really have to love one another! My aim is for this
painting to inspire the ‘politishans’ to promote peace on earth!
Pluto: My purpose is to have a sensational experience beyond the visual effect. The steel plate is placed
in such a way so that people entering the gallery have to bump into it, not suspecting it is heated to a
pre-combusting degree! As they get burned, each one on a different part of their body, they experience
the pain of existence and its unexpected nature; I find that ‘twhotally’ fascinating!
