Renovation of the heart
What if you could go back in time
And get a redo?
Renovation of the heart
Renovation of the heart
Revitalization
~ An act of renewal from God
~ that begins with turning from sin
~ And a recovery of the Gospel.
Seeking God’s Grace
The gospel says
~ You and I were created for a relationship
with God
~ Our sin separated us from that relationship
~ There is nothing that we can do to
reconcile this relationship on our own
Seeking God’s Grace
The gospel says
~ Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty
for our sin
~ Jesus rose from the dead that we might
have life, now and eternally
~ Jesus offers eternal life (or a reconciled
relationship) to those who will repent of
their sin by placing faith in Jesus Christ
Seeking God’s Grace
We love to make an outward showing in the
flesh of our spirituality, but we don’t run to
the cross as our answer for all that we need
to grow in holiness and spiritual maturity.
Seeking God’s Grace
Now that you are saved, don’t desert the
cross for some other “gospel” that you can
control, see, and measure by external
standards
In order to seek God’s grace we must boast
only in the cross.
Seeking God’s Grace
What does it mean to boast in the
cross?
~ We fear God, not man.
~ We have freedom to love others.
~ We bear the fruit of the Spirit.
Seeking God’s Grace
~ Fearing God, not man
• Pleasing God – serving man, not
pleasing man and serving God (c.f. Acts
17:25)

• In light of God’s great forgiveness to us
we forgive others.

people we would normally shy away
from.
