actions. A picture can be used as propaganda by showing an inaccurate image of a person or
event in order to influence the thoughts, feelings, or actions of those who view it. For instance,
the picture “The Bloody Massacre” that was created after the Boston Massacre shows a neat,
orderly row of British soldiers firing into a defenseless crowd of Americans. The image does not
accurately portray what happened in the Boston Massacre, but it lead colonists to be angry with
the British.
